In three days time, the next place they found themselves in, was a place called Yunping City, located in Yunmeng. There was a Guanyin temple in the center of it all. Xie Lian asked Ling Wen more on this place and gave a background history. It used to be a brothel before a temple. The brothel was actually the home of Jin Guangyao's mother who has reportedly died in the fire that burned the brothel down. It was Jin Guangyao who set the fire to begin with.

"So this place is personal," Wuxian said, "they are here somewhere."

"I think Jin Guangyao will make a move at night when their is less people around," Hua Cheng said, "I can sense Kaili is here somewhere but I do not know where right now. It's as if the place is messing with me...which is a first."

"I cannot feel our bond anymore as it stops here," Xichen said.

"Why don't we find an inn and check things out when it gets dark?" Xie Lian suggested.

The others nodded in agreement. They ordered two rooms. Hua Cheng and Xie Lian in one, and Xichen, Wangji, and Wuxian in another. Wuxian would just share the bed with Wangji anyway...if they even sleep. Hua Cheng and Xie Lian were the room with the other three for now to chat.

"San Lang, since Kaili told Xichen-Ge she has been tortured, should we have Wen Qing prepare a room for her, with herbs and other supplies that might be needed?" Wuxian asked, "I have a feeling it is not going to be pretty."

Hua Cheng nodded and left to ask her. Yin Yu, and Wen Ning helped her prepare everything for her when they find her, "she didn't say how bad but I do feel like it's bad," Xichen said.

"I feel like Xichen wants to be the one to kill him," Wuxian said.

"I am," Xichen said angrily, "how did he get to her though is the question?"

"We will have to ask her when we can," Wangji said, "she hasn't reached out to you again?"

"No," Xichen said.

"Jin Guangyao used to work under Sect Leader Nie," Wuxian said, "since that was the case, he knows the sect inside and out. He might have been tracking us for a while."

Before anyone else got a word in Wen Qing appeared, "San Lang, you said she was being tortured right?"

"That was what she told Xichen," San Lang said, "why?"

Wen Qing sighed and sat down with them, "there is something you should know. Since the Sunshot happened I never got the chance to explain what I did while I was under Wen Ruohan."

"What happened? Did something happen to you?" Wuxian asked concerned.

"Not me, but I was Wen Ruohan's best healer. Wen Jin Guangyao started to work under Wen Ruohan as a spy, from what I heard he was a spy anyway...he became Wen Ruohan's personal experimental torturer. He got to explore ways to torture people in the prisons. I have seen some of these things too. Branding irons, chains, daggers, he even used oil on a spiritual discipline whip and lit it on fire. The effects of it were pretty bad, third and fourth degree burns...and from what I know Kaili is cold blooded. If anything, depending on the extent, heat can be Kaili's weakness," Wen Qing said, "if he knows of that, he will use it against her."

"When Jiang Cheng used Zidian on her," Wuxian pointed out, "that mark was bad."

Xichen was now worried, "we have to find her soon," he said a bit panicked.

"We will," Xie Lian said, trying to calm him down.

"I just thought you should know what to expect if Kaili said she was being tortured," Wen Qing said, "I had to treat the wounds personally as it was. Some of the wounds were so bad, I could see bones."

"Kaili can grow rare medical herbs too but she won't have strength to produce them," Xie Lian said.

"Can we talk about something else?" Xichen asked, "I am scare to know what is happening to her but I also do not want to panic as it will not help. I need to think properly before I break."

"We will do what we can, Xiongzhang," Wangji said, "you were there for me when I was waiting for Wei Ying. It is my turn to be there for you."

Xichen nodded and could only hope to have Kaili back in his arms again soon.

Kaili woke up in a new location. She was still naked and chained up but up against a different wall. There were candles and curtains and incense everywhere. She realized she was in a temple. She realized that she was able to use her abilities now as she did not have that enchantment around her anymore.

Stupid son of whore, you should not have brought me somewhere I can break free. It will now be the last day of your life.

A rush of adrenaline poured through her as she turned into her snake form, breaking through the chains that bound her. She grew massive, the size of the Hanshi at least. She used whatever strength she had left to keep her durability up and she was invincible. Despite her snake being covered in cuts, burns, bruises, and other marks and wounds, she was still strong. She hissed loudly and lunged at Jin Guangyao. His left arm was completely in her mouth. She shook her head back and forth, and it caused his arm to tear off and he went flying across the temple grounds.

The other people that were with him were carrying bows and shot arrows at her. It was all in vain because trying to penetrate through her snake skin was useless. It was like very strong and unbreakable armor. Her tail whipped around and knocked them all down, throwing them every which way. She then rammed her head through the door of the main gate of the temple. It actually caused her to cut her forehead head from a piece of cloth wood that stuck out but she did not care. She was angry and she was on a clouded rampage.

Not far from the temple, was the inn where the others were, "Did you hear that?" Wuxian asked upon hearing the loud bang.

The others nodded and ran outside to see Kaili's large white bloodied snake fighting off people. She was ignoring them for the most part as she was focused on one specific person.

"Kaili?!" Xichen called out.

Kaili stopped what she was doing and looked towards Xichen. Upon seeing him, it was like all the fight she had inside of her just disappeared. She slithered over to him quickly and let Wangji, Wuxian, and Xie Lian handle Jin Guangyao. With one arm and filled with Kaili's venom, he didn't have long to live anyway. Kaili was now beside Xichen and shifted to her human form. She nearly collapsed into his arms and started sobbing. Xichen saw she had nothing on and wrapped his outer robes around her to cover her before lifting her up.

Xichen could not believe the state she was in. Burns, lashings, stab wounds, cuts, bruises, and torn skin. Hua Cheng used some of his energy to knock her out so she can be taken to Wen Qing and let her get to work. She had a medical bath ready and had her soak in it right away. She soaked for a good hour before she was taken out. There were a couple other female healers there to help Wen Qing. They then applied ointment and wrapped her in bandages. Wen Qing said when she is ready, that if she goes through a forced shedding like she did once before, she will be able to heal quicker.
