Kaili let out a soft yawn when she heard the door open of the Hanshi. She heard Lan Xichen talking but also felt the presence of two other people as well. Kaili carefully slithered off the bed and to the main room. She then saw two men that looked like they came from the same place.
One man appeared elegant and attractive, but his nervous demeanor shows through his facial expressions. He takes care to dress stylishly, often adorning himself with rings of jewelry and carrying a paper fan. The other man was taller, and his waist is narrow and his shoulders broad. His formidable appearance gives the impression that he can start burning with rage at any moment.
The smaller man shrieked and jumped on the taller man's back upon seeing the white snake slither in the room. Lan Xichen tried not to laugh as he went to the snake and knelt down to her offering her his hand. She then happily slithered up his arm and coiled around him, her head resting on his shoulder.
"Huaisang, get off me. It's not going to hurt you," The taller man said.
The smaller man named, Huaisang, climbed down and looked at the snake wrapped around Lan Xichen, "Er-G-Ge, when did you get a snake? I thought pets were forbidden here?" Huaisang asked.
"She isn't necessarily a pet, she is a spiritual snake, and is my spiritual companion. She was being chased by some of our juniors and I saved her. In return she bonded with me and offered to remain at my side. She has a human appearance of course but she is normally a snake more often," Xichen explained, "her name is Ye Kaili."
"So she is friendly?" Huaisang asked nervously.
"Yes, as long as you do not provoke her or try to harm me. She is very protective of me. She...for some reason hissed and acted out a bit at Jin Guangyao when he was here yesterday," Xichen answered.
"Smart snake," the older man mumbled, "does not trust that weasel either."
"You think A'Yao is up to something?" Xichen asked.
"I do not think, I know," the older man said.
"Da-Ge's temper is worse when he is around him," Huaisang said.
His Qi is altered. If he isn't careful he could deviate. I can also sense some negative energy running through his body.
Lan Xichen looked at the snake then at the taller man, "Da-Ge, can I check your Qi?"
"Be my guest," he said and let him check his Qi.
What Kaili said was correct. Kaili slithered off Xichen and went to the door. Xichen didn't even asked and opened it. Even though it was cold, she could be out for a moment just to make a plant for the man. She made a plant that had cleansing properties and it rids the body of it. It also heals the Qi and is then immune to the bad energy. They use the leaves of the plant in boiling water like brewing tea and they consume it.
Xichen did as Kaili instructed and gave the drink to the taller man, "Kaili, this is Sect Leader Nie Mingjue and his little brother Nie Huaisang," Xichen said as she coiled around his body again for warmth.
Nie Mingjue already felt the effects of the drink Xichen made and his body was cleansed. His temperament was back to his normal level. His Qi was normal as well.
"Thank you," Nie Mingjue said.
"Kaili can cultivate nature and the elements, and plants. She is not only a spiritual Snake but also a deity," Xichen explained.
Kaili decided to shift to her human form. The three men were stunned by her beauty. Xichen had already seen her once but he still can't believe how beautiful she is. He was going to have to learn to adjust to her appearance quickly. He felt he would only become more attracted to her over time.
