Kaili told Xichen that she would be out for the night as she wanted to see for herself that Wei Wuxian was awake. Xichen was fine with it and wanted her back soon. For them being a bit distant with each other, he was very clingy of her at times; possessive even. His attitude seems to be changing as well, he gets irritated more often but Kaili has managed to work around that.

"Now you are clingy," she teased.

"Yes, you are mine," he said firmly.

She smirked at him, "I will probably be back before you wake up in the morning anyway. So stop being possessive."

"Fine," he said pouting, "I will see you later. Let me know how he is doing too."

"I will," Kaili said and teleported to Paradise Manor in Ghost City.

Paradise Manor is located next to a lake, a number of will-o'-the-wisps floating above the water. The manor itself is a glamorous golden pavilion with an intense aura of bewitchment that even emits from the entrance letters that read "Paradise Manor". From inside come sounds of captivating and soft music sung by women and a warm, perfumed scent.

Kaili entered and Yin Yu greeted her. Yin Yu is the former Martial God of the West who was later banished from the Heavens and now works for Hua Cheng as a servant and assistant. He also used to be the guardian of Quan Yizhen. Yin Yu is a neat and tidy youth with a handsome, but forgettable appearance. He wears black robes along with a mask of a ghost face that resembles a woeful smile to hide his identity. He also has a Cursed Shackle on his wrist. As a mortal youth, Yin Yu had bright eyes and a glowing, spirited face. With an air of bold confidence, he stood tall with a straight back and possessed an overall impressive appearance.

Yin Yu is a kind and quiet person. He has virtually no sense of presence to the point that very few notice him when mixed in a crowd. This has worked to his advantage as it allows him to sneak by others or infiltrate areas most would have difficulty. Yin Yu is a man of truly strong moral who will not harm others for petty jealousy or steal someone else's power, being someone who is truly compassionate and just.

"Hello Yin Yu," Kaili greeted.

"Are you here to see Hua Cheng?" Yin Yu asked.

"I am, I was told Wei Wuxian was awake and I am here to meet him," Kaili said.

"Okay, follow me," Yin Yu said.

Kaili smiled and shifted to her snake form. She slithered beside Yin Yu. Yin Yu loved Kaili's snake appearance. She was calm but fierce. She was never to be underestimated. They entered the Paradise Hall, and Hua Cheng was sitting beside Xie Lian and Wei Wuxian was sitting across from them.

"Hua Cheng?" Yin Yu called out.

Hua Cheng looked up and automatically saw Kaili slithering in. He laughed, "hello Kaili," he said and nodded to Yin Yu.

Yin Yu left to let them be. Wei Wuxian was surprised to see a large white snake now inside Paradise Hall, "This is Kaili?" He asked.

"She has a human appearance, but knowing her, she has a reason for being in her snake form," Xie Lian said, "she is friendly, as long as you do not provoke her."

"So she is a goddess and snake spirit," Wuxian said as Kaili slithered up in the seat beside him.

Wuxian didn't show any fear as he didn't feel threatened by her. Kaili than slithers on Wei Wuxian's lap and coils around his waist. Her head on his shoulder. Turns out, she was just being friendly with him. Wuxian honestly did not know what to think but he felt like he enjoyed her company.

"She likes you, she wouldn't do that otherwise," Hua Cheng said. Wei Wuxian was blushing but he felt honored to have her favor, "Kaili, I'm sure you did not come here just to be playful and cuddly."

Kaili moved off Wei Wuxian and to the floor before shifting to her human form, "of course, I just wanted to say hello to him."

"Ugh, hi," Wuxian said.

Kaili looked him up and down, "I can see why Wangji likes you, you have a friendly aura about you...it is an ability of mine. I can feel other's emotions and sense other's auras."

"I look forward to getting to know you more, you seem very interesting," Wuxian said.

"You will see me around I am sure," she said, "I am in Cloud Recesses quite often as it is. If not there I am with Xie Lian and Hua Cheng."

"How is Lan Zhan?" Wuxian asked.

"He is doing okay," She replied as she sat beside him, "do you know of him recovering from a whipping?"

"I do," Wuxian said, "San Lang told me."

"I can also cultivate nature so I have made an herb that helps heal him and rids his body of scars. He is also busy keeping A'Yuan safe," She said.

Hua Cheng and Xie Lian didn't know of A'Yuan, "the boy is alive?" Xie Lian asked. Wuxian seemed relieved to hear that too.

"Wangji saved him from the mounds. He had a fever but he is healthy now. He is also now Lan Yuan, as Wangji adopted him as his own son," Kaili said.

"He adopted A'Yuan?" Wuxian asked surprised.

"He did, and to make sure he was extra protected, I gave him one of my scales," Kaili said.

"A snake scale is a good gift, he will definitely be safe with it," Xie Lian said.

"Thank you for helping them both," Wei Wuxian said, "how is A'Yuan?"

"He is a happy boy," Kaili said, "he has a little friend named Jingyi. I looked into that little boy a bit and saw that Jingyi was an orphan. He is also a bit of a troublemaker but A'Yuan keeps him in line. Wangji does well with him."

"Maybe I can talk to Lan Zhan about adopting Jingyi too. I would have to meet the boy but I am sure I'd love him all the same."

"Have you and Xichen worked things out?" San Lang asked.

"In a way we have, I threatened him...playfully not long ago," she answered.

"How?" San Lang asked.

"As my snake form, I threatened him to feed me or I would eat him alive," Kaili said, "his mind immediately went to the gutter."

"He likes you," Xie Lian said.

"Maybe," Kaili said, "we worked things out and he promised not to do that again so I just have to see if he follows through. He is acting a bit strange right now at the moment. We are still a bit distant but he is also clingy. He is very confusing to me right now."

"I am sure you two will work it out soon," Xie Lian said and Kaili just nodded.

"Any news on Jin Guangyao?" San Lang asked.

"No, we have Nie Huaisang sending out his spies to look for extra help," Kaili said, "we haven't heard anything though."

"I take it some people do not want me dead if I return?" Wuxian asked.

"That is correct, even though I am spiritually connected to Xichen, I will do what I can to help you. Wangji and Xichen want to help you. Nie Mingjue said he will help as well. So you have the Lan Clan and the Nie Clan on your side. You also have a deity with you," Kaili said and stood, "and this deity told Xichen she would return before he woke the next morning."

"He's clingy now huh?" Xie Lian asked.

"I know, these Lans, you can't live with them but can't live without them," Kaili said.

"Tell me about it," Wuxian said.

"Wangji said he will wait for you," Kaili told him.

"I will see him soon," Wuxian said.

Kaili nodded and then teleported back to the Hanshi. She shifted to her snake form and laid in a coil beside Xichen under his blanket. Her head was propped up on his pillow. She then dozed off for a while.
