Ye Kaili was created gods. She was a deity, and snake spirit. At thirty thousand years of age, she was to live in the cultivation world for some time to learn the ways of the people.

While the elders, Wangji, and Xichen, were doing a surprise headcount the next day, Wuxian and Kaili stayed in the Hanshi with A'Yuan and his friend Jingyi. Wuxian found out that Jingyi was an orphan within the sect and even convinced Wangji to adopt him. Now he and A'Yuan are adopted siblings.
The three of them have been focused on Kaili, as she was in her snake form. She was normally ten feet but she made herself grow larger as she wanted to make sure that the boys were safe. She knew that there were people in the sect that could attempt something really stupid. With Kaili and Wei Wuxian, the two boys were safe though.
Kaili's senses were enhanced in her snake form, and she could immediately sense danger. Since she was two times her original size. She coiled her body around the two boys to protect them and she began to hiss to alert Wuxian to be careful. Wuxian stood and took out Chenqing.
Kaili tried to speak to him as a snake, "call for ssuiibiann," she said. Wuxian looked at her in confusion, "you have the ability. It will come to you if you call."
Wuxian closed his eyes and called for his faithful sword. After a minute, he flew in through one of the open windows of the Hanshi. Wuxian smiled and put Chenqing back in his waist belt and unsheathed his sword. Soon a man in black robes entered the Hanshi and a second was beside him wearing a ghost mask.
"Xue Yang? I thought you were dead?" Wuxian said.
"Likewise," Xue Yang replied, "Wei Wuxian, it is a pleasure to finally meet you."
Kaili grew a little bigger and hissed, showing off her fangs and many sharp teeth. Since being with Xichen, she knew how to enhance her abilities. She knew how to enhance durability and make her body impenetrable so swords, daggers, arrows or anything else would not harm her. She could not be poisoned as she was already the most deadly venomous and toxic in the room.

"Where did this snake come from?" Xue Yang asked.
"Your nightmares," Wuxian replied.
Kaili lunged forward and bit the man wearing the ghost mask. The venom was already injected into his body and it began as a paralytic agent before it started to cause his organs to shut down. He will eventually die from the venom. If not treated in five minutes, there was no saving him. The man with the mask was then bound by a webbing talisman Wuxian had and then he and Kaili focused on Xue Yang.
"Wuxxian, teleport the kidssss, to the Jingssshi, place a protective ward then come back," Kaili hissed out.
Wuxian did just that. He made sure the boys were safe and placed a have ward around the Jingshi to keep people out other than him or Wangji. Wuxian then teleported back to see Kaili slither out of the Hanshi and chase after Xue Yang. It was quite a sight to see a giant white snake charging after a man. Wuxian shot off a flare indicating that there were intruders, while Lan Qiren and the elders continued with the head count, Wangji and Xichen went to where the flare shot off.
They ended up near the back hills. Wangji saw a ward around the Jingshi and new the boys were their. He then said Wuxian and Kaili in combat agains a man in black. A second man in black and mask, was lagging but he was still fighting. There was blood coming from the man's arm. He happened to break through the webbing that Wuxian had around him.
Kaili was angry as hell. She was fighting the man in the mask as Wuxian was after the other one, "Xue Yang?" Wangji asked, "he is still alive?"
"You help Wuxian, I will help Kaili," Xichen said.
Xichen ran to Kaili and stood beside her. He then face the man in the mask, "give it up, you have been bitten and you will die if you keep fighting," Xichen said.
Kaili towered over Xichen making herself look frightening and threatening. Xichen looked up and was enamored by how beautiful she was when she was fighting. Xichen had to focus and turned back to the man in the mask. He had a better binding rope and bound him with it. He sealed his spiritual powers, then removed the mask.
"Su She, are you stupid? Why are you doing this?" Xichen asked.
"You will lose, Zewu Jun. My partner has so much planned for you and your stupid clan," he said angrily.
Kaili hiss and tore the man's robes from the front. It revealed the backlash from the Hundred Holes Curse.
"Kaili, how long does he have?" Xichen asked.
"It is too late for him to have the anti-venom. So before he loses the ability to talk from paralysis, maybe another hour or two. He will be dead by the end of the day," Kaili replied.
"Can you incapacitate Xue Yang? His time is past due as well," Xichen said.
Kaili turned to Xue Yang who's back was facing her. She lunged forward and took hold of his leg. Xichen bound him with a rope and sealed his abilities as well.
"Wuxian, we found the man who cast the curse," Xichen said and pointed at Su She.
Wei Wuxian stood before Su She and knelt down, "why did you do it?"
Su She did not answer. Kaili shifted to her human form and stood beside Wuxian and used her hypnosis on him, "Why did you cast the curse?"
"Because I wanted to," Su She answered.
"Who taught it to you?" Kaili asked.
"Jin Guangyao had a book of forbidden spells and curses," Su She answered.
"Were you the man who played the second flute at Qionqi Path a few years ago?" Kaili asked.
"Yes," Su She asked.
"Did you alter Chenqing at Nightless City at Wei Wuxian's demise a few years ago?" Kaili asked.
"Yes," Su She answered.
"Under who's orders?" Kaili asked.
"Jin Guangyao," Su She replied.
"Why did Jin Guangyao want the two Jin Heirs dead?" Kaili asked.
"He wanted to pave his way to being the next Sect Leader," Su She answered.
Knowing he didn't have much time left before he would lose the ability to speak, she asked one last question, "how did Jiang Yanli get to the battle field of Nightless City? How did she know that she could find Wei Wuxian there?"
"Jin Guangyao told her. He poisoned her tea and decided that she should die by Wei Wuxian's mistakes. He could then help raise Jin Ling to his bidding. Sect Leader Jiang took him to raise instead. He plans on killing his father."
"How?"
"The way he always wanted to go out, being in the hands of so many beautiful women," Su She answered.
Kaili sighed and looked at the others, "do you want to know anything else?"
They all shook their heads. Kaili released him from hypnosis and shifted to her snake form. She was back to her normal size and coiled around Xichen's torso and hung her head over his shoulder like always. Wangji, Wuxian, and Xichen took care of Su She and Xue Yang. They placed the two in a holding cell in the dungeon, and had two loyal guards watch their lives parish from Kaili's venom.
Wei Wuxian was in shock from all the answers he received that he desperately wanted. Wangji took him back to the Jingshi to comfort him and to let him recover from all the shock. Xichen sighed and returned to the Hanshi after hearing from the elders they found five disciples from the Moling Su Sect. They were all put in the dungeons to be dealt with in a couple days. Everyone needed a day or two to let all the information soak into their minds.
Xichen was back in the Hanshi and Kaili was stretched out over Xichen as he was relaxing on his bed. He was dressed in a tunic and trousers as he was ready to sleep soon. Kaili had her head resting on Xichen's chest and let Xichen pet her to his heart's content.
