Kaili was in her human form having a warm bath before that evening's engagement party. She was nervous because the sects would be here and she wasn't fond of them very much. She invited San Lang and Xie Lian which they happily accepted, as she needs all the support she could get. Plus they had a surprise planned for everyone later that night.

Kaili had put on an all white hanfu with a matching sash. A long white tulle outer layer was it's accent piece. Kaili had used the opportunity to also wear the new white jade snake hair pin Xichen made just for her. She put her hair into a nice bun and had a couple braids to decorate her head. After putting the hairpin in, she was pretty much ready.

Xichen was waiting for her in the main room of the Hanshi. When she stepped out of the washroom (bathroom), Xichen was stunned speechless, yet again, by her beauty. Xichen wanted so badly to marry her then and there.

"You are so beautiful, Kaili," Xichen told her.

Kaili blushed, "and you look handsome yourself."

"Ready to head over to the banquet hall?" Xichen asked.

Kaili let out a deep breath, "I suppose," she said, "since I was attacked by them in Lanling, I'm not necessarily a big fan of the other sects. The Nie Sect is probably the only other sect I can tolerate."

"Well, you will be close to me the entire evening so it should be okay," Xichen said, "San Lang and Xie Lian are also going to be here so you have protection. You are San Lang's newly announced sworn sister."

Kaili giggled as they stepped out of the Hanshi, "two months before the wedding, I will be spending with him and Xie Lian as it is tradition to be away from the groom. Hope you can handle it."

"I hope so too," he said.

"Can I ask you something?" She asked.

"Hmm?"

"That night of our consummation...do you mind if I take a contraceptive? I am okay with having children eventually but I want to spend some time married to you first," she question.

"Of course, I am okay with it," he said, "we have a lot of time to discuss something like that. As you said I will also ascend that night, maybe I should train a bit before expanding the family."

"I will also be happy to help you train. I have a place we can go after the wedding to get away for a few weeks if you want," Kaili said.

"Honeymoon?" Xichen asked.

"Sure," she replied.

When the two approached the banquet hall, Kaili held onto Xichen's arm and entered. Xichen led her to the table at the front center of the room and sat down with her. Since it was a banquet, they allowed talking while dining that evening.

As it has been a few years, Wei Wuxian's nephew would be a toddler by now, and he was there with Madam Jin (Jin Guangshan's wife) and Jiang Cheng. Wei Wuxian was just happy to see the little boy even if he didn't personally get to approach him. Little did everyone know, Kaili had a surprise for everyone, and it was with Xie Lian and San Lang's help. Xichen didn't even know.

Kaili stood up and called for everyone's attention, "good evening everyone, my name is Ye Kaili, Deity and Snake spirit, and I am thankful to have you all here to celebrate the engagement between me and Zewu Jun," she gave the crowd a moment to clap before speaking again, she even took out her hair pin for a moment, "not long ago, Lan Xichen went out of his way to make me this beautiful hair pin. While he was making it, I was unable to be around him so I spend some time with my sworn brother and his husband," Kaili put the pin back in her hair, "during that time, San Lang, also known as Hua Cheng, and I sat down and talked for a while. I asked him for a very big favor and he agreed with it, mostly because we are family and he would do anything for family. Plus it also involved his good friend Wei Wuxian, so I know this evening is all about Lan Xichen and me, but I wanted to bring back something that is very special to some people...you both can enter!" She called out.

Two people then walked in. A young man who wore white and gold, sparks amist snow robes, and a young women who held his arm, who had on beautiful purple robes with a nine petal lotus on it.

"Shijie?" Wuxian asked quietly.

It was Jin (Jiang) Yanli and Jin Zixuan. The young couple approached Wei Wuxian first, "A'Xian," Yanli said holding his face. Wei Wuxian had tears in his eyes, "I am home...and neither me or Zixuan blame you for what happened. You got peace for what happened even though one man has still yet to be found. I am home now, and we will have more time to talk."

"Shijie," Wuxian said and hugged her.

After a moment, Yanli then turned to Jiang Cheng, "I know you meant well, but please try to make amends with A'Xian," she said and looked at the toddler in his arms, "Jin Ling?"

Jiang Cheng nodded and handed him to her, "your son."

Jin Zixuan hugged Yanli and his son before turning to his mother. He took the role of sect leader for her as he knows of his father's wrongdoing. Kaili sat back down beside Xichen and held onto his arm.

"That is a sweet surprise," Xichen said.

"Do not tell Wuxian yet but we are also looking into Wen Ning and Wen Qing," she said.

"Really?" Xichen asked.

She nodded, "they were innocent and they deserve a life. We wish to help all the Dafan Wens but Wen Qing and Wen Ning is all we can do."

"I am sure it is still good enough for them," Xichen said, "you really are a good person, Kaili."

Kaili giggled, "and I am all yours."

Xichen smiled at her and gave her a gentle kiss on the lips. It did not linger as there were guests. After a while, many people from various sects came up to the two and wished them a happy marriage and congratulated them too.
