~*Kaili's POV*~

I can still hear that laugh and see that look of joy in his eyes as he enjoys torturing me. He was dead but he still haunts me. I hated the dark, and this nightmare I am trapped in is dark. I can see a small orange light from the branding iron.

"Kaili!?"

I heard his voice and I thought I was hearing things.

"A'Li, wake up," I heard his voice again. It was louder but it was gentle. I felt no threat from the voice. It felt soothing, actually.

My eyes opened and I could feel tears falling down my cheeks. I was panting, and trembling. I felt someone holding my hands in theirs, close to their chest. My vision began to focus as daylight started to clear the fog in my eyes. Lan Huan was sitting right there beside me, holding me close. He has been the best support for me since I was back and I have been so grateful for him. I will forever love him and when we are married, I will forever cherish him.

"A'Huan?" I choked out, "did I wake you?"

"I was already awake. I was sitting here beside you reading but I saw you were having a bad dream," he said calmly.

"It wasn't a dream...it was real A'Huan...it all happened," I said crying, "will these visions and nightmares ever go away?"

He pulled me close to him, my head on his chest, "someday. It just takes time," he said, "it will be okay. He is no longer able to hurt you."

"He is dead but he invades my mind like a plague. I want him to just disappear completely," I said.

"I was told Hua Cheng has his soul being tortured in the deepest part of the ghost world," He told me.

"It still doesn't make me feel better right now," I said.

"So I decided to change some things. I decided that we will only be apart for a month not two months before the wedding. It thought it will help you a bit more," he said.

"Really?" I asked.

"Mnn," he replied, "You need me right now."

I nodded and snuggled closer to him, "you are so warm," I said, "I remember how cold I was. I craved your warmth...I missing you holding me. I was doing what I can to keep going and not give in to whatever he wanted but I was so scared. I didn't know if I was ever going to see you again. He said he would kill you."

"Shh," he said. I felt his fingers tangle within my hair, "it's alright, you are safe now and I am here. That month we are apart for our wedding preparations, I want you to work on being comfortable with others again. It will take time but I don't want you to have a panic attack at our wedding."

I nodded and nuzzled my face into his neck, "Mnn," I then placed a kiss on his neck, "am I going to get fed soon?"

A'Huan smiled, "well, you are holding me pretty tightly for me to move at the moment. Otherwise I would love to make you food...why don't you go ahead and freshen up and I will go make you breakfast."

"But you didn't kiss me yet," I pouted.

He chuckled, "my apologies."
