Alice's POVAs soon as my hands touched the crystal it pulsed with a bright purple light before flashing through the colors of every element. Red: fire, Blue: water, Brown: earth, Green: wind, Yellow: light, Black: shadow and finally settled on Purple: spirit.
"In all my years..." The head priest stood staring in complete awe. "I have tested many children and I have never seen any with all of the elemental affinities. It's unheard of."
"Is that a bad thing?" I asked, not knowing what this meant.
"No child, it is not a bad thing but a miracle...."
I turned to look at my parents but I could no longer see them in the crowd. A wave of sadness hit me but honestly I'm not too surprised.
Noticing that my parents are no longer present the head priest ushered me through the door with the other children being sent to the magic academy. All together there seemed to be five of us being sent this year. There were three boys and two girls counting myself. The boys all seemed pretty excited to be going while the girl seemed kinda nervous.
She was kinda cute, blonde hair with green eyes and fair slightly tanned skin. I think I remember her name being Sky. I went to stand next to her as the head priest came through the door finished with talking to the other kids and their parents.
"Now if you would follow me to the carriage children, we are going to depart for the capital immediately."
As we all followed him outside and into the carriage we were all given a small badge that had the academies symbol on it, a shooting start and moon with some kind of ancient language on it.
"Finally,-" The head priest exclaimed with a sigh. "I hate doing that stupid ceremony every year. It's boring and I can't stand all the noisy kids."
"Sir, we have just departed, is it wise to be so lax already? What if someone was to have heard you?" The man driving the carriage said as he looked around nervously.
"Oh relax Leto, nobody heard me. All the parents are already on their way home by now. Hell, some of them didn't even seem to care." He laughed as he looked my way. "Tell me little girl, just why is it that your parents left so early? Better yet, why did they look so afraid of everyone finding out about your affinities?"
"........"
"Well child? I don't have all day and my patience is already wearing thin."I felt a small shiver run down my spine as I saw the irritated look on his face and heard the malice in his words. I'm starting to think this academy isn't what it's been made out to be.
"I honestly don't know sir, they have been acting like that for years now. Ever since I turned five they have been avoiding me..."After I finished talking it seemed all of the other kids were looking at me with a sad expression. The priest however seemed to be completely unfazed and kinda bored.
"Whatever the case may be at least we wont have to worry about any interference or them worrying about how the academy does things.
"Excuse me sir,-" One of the boys suddenly spoke up. "-but what do you mean worry about the way the academy works?"
I think we all were wondering the same thing. But I'm honestly surprised that he was willing to speak up to the priest like that. He was either brave for his age or extremely slow if you know what I mean.
"Well, seeing as how we are almost there, there is no longer any need to withhold that information as you will soon find out anyway." He said as a very unsettling smile crept onto his face. "As you may have already deducted, this is no ordinary academy. You five were born with extremely powerful magic and a huge mana capacity therefore you cannot be allowed to roam freely until you have been properly trained and educated. That is why as soon as your power was revealed and registered you were immediately enrolled in the academy.
As he paused seemingly for dramatic effect, I couldn't help but get a horrible feeling in my gut. This morning I couldn't be happier, I thought that I was finally going to start learning magic but now, all I could think is I am no longer sure if we were going to make it through this. No longer had I begin thinking like that the head priest finished his explanation making that dreadful feeling sink in even more.
"Crisol Magic Academy is actually called Crisol Military Academy. You kids can say goodbye to your freedom as well as any thought you may have had of having any kind of fun. Welcome to the academy kids, you now belong to the capital."
