Dark Reincarnation: Nightshade

Chapter 19

Alice's POV

         I woke up more rested then I felt in like forever. Feeling my arm start getting all tingly I looked over to see Lily sound asleep practically laying on me. I slowly slid my arm out from under her causing her to wake up and look at me. Her beautiful golden eyes sparkled and she gave me a captivating smile.

             "Good morning beautiful, sleep well?" I asked while standing up and grabbing my clothes.

            "The best I've slept in a long time actually." She said while grabbing her clothes as well.

               "So.. what's on the agenda today Alice?"

         "Well, first I would like to go to the nearest village and see about securing a horse and carriage. Then I plan to head towards Lumina."

                 "Lumina huh. Sounds fun."

    Lumina was a small kingdom that was by the sea. It should be about a month and a half's journey by carriage. By now we had both finished getting dressed. Walking towards the cave exit I had to let my eyes adjust to the sudden onslaught of light that came in from outside. I believe the nearest village is about a half a day's walk from here.

      Thankfully, nothing crazy happened on the way and we made it there decently quickly. Walking up to the village we were getting stares from just about everyone we passed even though we had our hoods up. I just shrugged it off and went to ask the nearest person where we could aquire a horse and carriage. After being directed to the stable I quickly made our purchase. Then with everything loaded and ready to go we got back on the road.

Lily's POV

            "I'm soooooo booooooored-..." I said for what was most likely was the hundredth time. "Alice, are we almost there yet?"

         "For the fiftieth time Lily, no we are not. Not even close."

               "How much longer?" We have already been riding in this shitty carriage for two and a half weeks already. And I'm going absolutely insane with boredom. It's been way too peaceful of a trip for my liking. No bandits, no monster attacks, nothing.... I don't know how much longer I can go without letting loose. I wanna run through the forest, I want to feel the thrill of chasing prey, I want to feel my teeth sink into something.

         "Again, we still have at least a couple more weeks until we reach Lumina."

                "But Alice..." I look at her with my best puppy dog eyes. 'come on, you know you can't resist this look' I thought as I continued to try to look my cutest.

           "Really? You're actually trying to give me the puppy dog eyes? Come on now Lily, I thought you were a Fenrir not a mere puppy."

                  "........" I just continued to silently plea and even tilted my head for added effect.

             "Uuhhhh, fine. We'll stop and let the horse rest for the night. I'll set up camp, you get to go find us dinner. I already know that you're practically dying to let loose."

                    "Yaaaay-" I said while jumping up and down, effectively causing Alice to just smirk at me. "You know me so well love."

               "Yeah, yeah, just bring back something good."

      Before the carriage even came to a full stop I was already jumping out. By the time my feet hit the ground I was already back in my Fenrir form. Without a second thought I ran straight into the forest.
