Alice's POV
Well it's officially been three weeks since we came to Lumina. The first week here we had mainly spent in our rooms. Yes I said rooms. Apparently me and Lily tend to, how should I say it, we seem to get a bit carried away with each other.
And apparently, even though the inn we were staying at was supposedly one of Luminas best when it came to quality, their furniture wasn't exactly sturdy... In the end we've had to switch rooms three times as well as pay for all the repairs..
Towards the end of that first week we were informed that the guild master had recovered and was even still willing to have a rank dual with Lily. Long story short Lily was now the same rank as me and the guild house was in the middle of being repaired. Sometimes I seem to forget that behind that innocent smile and that sexy figure, Lily was truly a being you shouldn't fuck with. She can be downright scary
As for the second week of us being here, we had spent each and every day doing as many quests as possible. Sometimes being able to start and complete up to four or five quests a day. And even though it may sound like it, we were not out there grinding or farming for exp.
The real reason we were doing so much was because of a single and simple reason. They needed money. Granted, between me and Lily we could easily throw down enough gold to buy a castle without blinking an eye. After the whole rank up thing we were actually trying not to attract any more attention.
So in order to be able to use a very large sum of coins without any questions being asked we decided to try to make as much as we could as fast as we could. I get it, it sounds a bit stupid and cliche for people to be out trying to get a bunch of gold. But the reason behind such actions was actually a pretty simple one. We wanted a house. A place to call our own hopefully towards the outer edge of Luminas.
I'm not exactly much of a people person and after spending so long in the crowded kingdom I started to get anxiety attacks every now and then so getting a place around this part of the kingdom was a no go. And I wouldn't be caught dead living with those self entitled rich people who think their shit don't stink.
During this last week we've spent here we were going around testing the waters with the different realtors and whatnot. Hoping to eventually find someone we could truly rely on to find us a home. After dealing with a few shady people and somehow keeping Lily from publicly disemboweling a couple others, we were starting to feel like giving up.
Deciding that we both could use a little venting, we decided to head over to the forest that wasn't too far from Lumina. What better way to get out some anger and frustration then to go kill some monsters.
As we were walking through the outer rings of Lumina, a.k.a. the slums, I had started to take a closer look at all the run down buildings that people were forced to live in. Everywhere you looked you could see how fucked up this world really is. But at the same time, these people were trying to make the best of it.
Even here in the slums people were somehow able to run mini businesses out of their homes. As we walked I saw a couple people selling food and other stuff as well as a person working as a blacksmith out of his place. But what really got my attention was a little one story house that had a sign saying REALTOR. It was pretty badly beaten up and obviously needing a few repairs here and there, but other then that it still somehow looked tidy.
