                       Rose's POV

Seeing my mom down in that arena fighting honestly amused me. She looks pretty bored. I've seen her go up against a lot tougher opponents before, so I have no doubt that she'll win.

Surprisingly, the prince managed to get a solid hit in and sent her into the wall. He kept blasting her with magic, trying to finish her off. Suddenly he had stopped attacking and looked to be saying something to her.

I couldn't hear what it was up here next to everyone else watching and talking amongst themselves but whatever it was must have pissed mom off. The reason I say that is because the whole area suddenly got a lot colder and the ground shook a little.

Next thing we know, my mom is ok instantly in front of the prince and holding him up by the neck. You could see smoke coming from her hand so she must be burning him.

It looked as if he was smiling, smug bastard. All I could do was smirk myself as he swiped his claws across her throat.

'Well... he's definitely a gonner. Oh look, now he seems afraid. Too late buddy.'

This should be over soon I'd imagine. Right as I thought that the arena suddenly went dark. It's as if the entire area below us has turned into a pit void of any light. Everyone started freaking out, trying to figure out what was going on.

A moment later a large pulse of energy surged from somewhere in the arena then the darkness faded. Once we were able to see down there again the only one still standing was my mom.

She was just kinda laughed and threw something towards the kings, somehow managing to get whatever it was through the barrier. Once everyone calmed down I was able to see what it was she had thrown. Rolling up to the kings feet was the princes head. The rest of his body was nowhere to be seen.

Standing up and snapping his fingers, the barrier dissipated and the floor started to shake again and the arena Rose back up until it was leveled with the throne room again.

Everyone was once again talking amongst themselves until the king raised his hand signaling for everyone to be quiet. Once it was finally silent he gestured for my mom to approach him. Doing as she was asked, my mom walked up to him and bowed.

"Raise your head child. Be proud, you have emerged victorious from a challenge of life and death against a formidable for. My son may have been stupid and long since lost his way, but he was in no manner weak. Do you have anything that you wish to say?"

"I simply want to know where we go from this, what happens now?"

"Well, you have proven yourself and are pardoned from your crimes. But with the display of power we have witnessed today, I'm inclined to give you something as well."

"Why? All I did was defend a little girl, injure your own son and then kill him in a duel you set up. Why would you want to reward me?"

"It is well known that in this kingdom we relish and respect power more then anything else. So tell me Alice, what is it you wish for?"

"My one and only wish is for me and my daughter to live a happy, comfortable and peaceful life."

"Hmmm, is that so? Very well, I will do all within my power to ensure that you get what you wish. You shall have all the money and protection it would take to make it happen. Remain here until everyone has cleared out so we may discuss this further."

                        "As you wish, your highness."
