Alice's POV

It's been about two months since we bought our new house. And we've been spending quite a bit of time on repairing it and making look the way we want. It's a damn beautiful place if I do say so myself.

It's a two story building made of mostly wood, giving it that cozy cabin vibe on the outside. The inside however is a completely different story. On the first floor is the living room, dining room, kitchen, bathroom, bath house and recreational room. On the top floor there is a master bedroom with it's own bathroom, which is where me and Lily sleep, another bathroom, and four guest rooms or whatever we ended up using them for. Everything was done up with a black and purple color scheme of course.

Directly on the side of the house we put up a training area for us to hone our skills and spar. Nothing too special. Just a couple training dummies that we constantly have to replace, a small archers range since I decided to play around with a bow a couple times and a running track around the whole thing.

Today we were heading over to the adventurers guild house to pick up a quest. I didn't exactly want to but we received a letter from the guild via carrier hawk early this morning. Apparently we have to take on at least one quest every couple months or our adventurers license will be revoked.

So a quick run and few startled people later we were standing in front of the quest board looking for something interesting that suited our ranks.

"Hey Lily, any luck on your side?"

      "Not yet, what about you?"

"Nothing above A rank and they all sound boring as hell."

      "Agreed."

As we were standing there contemplating just leaving and letting our licenses get revoked we suddenly picked up on a bit of commotion over by the receptionist desk. There was about three receptionists, Eileen being one of them, and the guild master arguing with each other over something.

Looking over to Lily she gave me a slight nod and we both walked over to see what was going on.

"Hey Eileen, Alister, what's got all your panties in a bunch?" I asked as we approached.

"Ah, Alice, Lily, perfect timing you two. We were just discussing what to do about a pretty dire situation we just got word of. Maybe the two of you can help." Alister told us with a worried expression on his face. It was weird seeing him like that since I've only seen him all happy go lucky carefree and whatnot.

"That depends, what's the situation you're talking about?"

"Well it seems that some people were abducted by some kind of monster from a village about ten or so miles here. Apparently whatever it was not only took them but dragged them into a dung-"

         "NO."

"What do you mean no? You didn't even let me fin-"

"I said no Alister. No dungeons, find someone else." I told him firmly. Just hearing the word dungeon brought back memories of seeing my friends die. I visibly shivered at the thought.

        "Alice?"

"No Lily, I'm sorry but I can't..." Instantly I turned to leave. Let them think whatever they want. Let them revoke my license. I really don't give a fuck. I absolutely refuse to go through something like that again. I've yet to go even close to a dungeon since then and I don't plan on it now.

I started to walk away with a confused Lily in tow. Just before I reached the door I heard Alister run up behind me.

"Please Alice, you two are the only ones currently here that are strong enough to stand a chance. Not only is it a difficult dungeon but we have reason to believe it was a high leveled Arch Demon behind this...."

"Alister, I'm sorry, but you can't ask me to do this.." I could already feel the tears threatening to fall as I covered my face. I reached for the door handle and swung it open. But just as I was stepping through.

           "Alice please, they're just kids..."

I stopped dead in my tracks. I don't exactly know why I did but hearing that made me freeze up.

"None of the villagers that were taken were even ten yet. We don't know wh-"

         "Where." I murmured.

                       "I'm sorry, what was that?"

"I SAID WHERE?" I could see everyone in the guild house visibly shake when I said that.

"Alice, love, you have to calm down a bit. Look around.." I heard Lily say in a calm loving tone as she put her hand on my shoulder. Doing as she said I took a look around and noticed everyone practically forced to kneel due to the immense pressure I was releasing in my aura. Some it seems even passed out.

Realizing what I was doing I took a deep breathe and tried to calm down. I could visibly see the relief on people's faces as the pressure died down, allowing them to stand.

"I'm sorry," I said, "Just tell me where."

"It's a dungeon just outside a small village named Tuske. It gives off a powerful aura that someone like you should be able to detect a mile away. Just head east for about ten miles and you'll reach the village."

           "Come on Lily, let's go."

Without another word said I ran out of the guild house in a blur. So fast I instantly sent out a sonic boom from breaking the first sound wave, not caring what damage could've been caused by it.

Running in the direction Alister told us it only took about ten minutes to get there. Not caring about asking for any information I completely flew past the village and headed straight for the ominous aura I could feel emanating from the dungeon. And before we knew it we were standing in front of the entrance.

'Why the fuck am I doing this?' I asked myself not really knowing how to answer my own question. 'Whatever... Let's do this..'
