Chapter 18

Alice's POV

       'Uhhhh... I feel like I just got hit by a tractor...' I thought to myself as I came to. 'What am I laying on? It's so soft and cushiony' With my eyes still closed I reach a hand up to feel what it was. As I grab whatever my head was on, the first thing I notice is how warm it was. It kinda felt like skin...

        "Uuuhhmmm"

     Hearing a soft quiet moan my eyes snapped open. Not only did I see I was getting a handful of Lily's chest I was also laying on it. Practically entirely on top of her. Feeling my face heat up I quickly rolled off of her and sat up.

   
           "You know, you didn't have to get up.." She said in an almost seductive tone. Her face turning red too. It was then I decided to take a sudden interest in our surroundings. That's when I realized I didn't know where we were and everything that happened rushed back to me. I immediately turned back and started checking Lily for wounds.

        "Wait. Your alive!! What happened? Are you hurt anywhere? Where are we?" She just gave a cute chuckle as I started bombarding her with questions.

        "Yes I'm alive, do you think so little of me you actually thought I wouldn't be? As to answer your question, we are in my den. The entrance is magically sealed so we don't have to worry about anyone finding us."

              "Wait...." I started to say as what she said sunk in. "Your den? The place we ran into each other, or rather the place you started following me, was at least a couple weeks travel from where we were. How did we get here so quickly?"

      Before she said anything I already had a feeling I knew what the answer was and I wasn't too happy.

       "Just to make it clear, it wasn't exactly quick. Seeing as how I was both heavily injured and trying to be careful whilst carrying you. But I ran us here."

     Wait.. She carried me here.. As in she carried me, day and night, for a couple weeks!!! If my face was red before now I'm positive it was probably growing. I quickly turned away and hid my face under my arm.

          "Thank you..." I mumbled whilst still hiding my face. Before anything else could happen and steam starts rising from my head I stood up and took another look around. Lily's den was apparently cut into some kind of mountain or cliff seeing as how we were in a cave.it was surprisingly clean for a monsters den. The only thing other then rock that could be seen was a thin layer of moss here and there. Lily had lain us on a thicker patch of moss as to try and make things more comfortable.

     'I can't believe I was unconscious that long.' I thought to myself as I tried to recall all that happened. All I could remember after seeing Lily get stabbed clean through was everything turning black.

         "Do you remember what happened? Seeing that man stab you with his magic swords is the last thing I can remember.."

    Lily sat up seemingly racking her brain trying to remember. "Well, after he did that I remember falling forward. I remember thinking about how even though I've only been following you for such a short time, I've been actually happy-." 

    Yet again I found myself blushing as she said that. The look in her eyes and the soft smile on her lips told me she truly meant what she said.

          "-But, right before I fully lost consciousness, I remember feeling the most intense energy and bloodlust I have ever felt being released from you. After that I remember waking up and seeing both you and that man laying on the ground-." Her expression becoming pained and worrisome. "-I thought you were gone.... But I realized I was able to feel the pact between us from the contract. After seeing that you were still alive I quickly grabbed you and ran. I didn't stop until we were here and I knew you were safe. It has been three weeks since that day.."

    I fell to my knees beside her feeling entirely stupid. As well as completely taken back. 'Wow... She truly cares for me.. we've only known each other for a pretty short time but it was undoubtedly clear.' I thought as I looked her in the eye. I reached forward and gently grabbed her shoulder, pulling her closer towards me.

       "Alice, what..-" She tried to say before she was interrupted by me suddenly pressing my lips against hers. I couldn't help it, I did it without thinking. I haven't felt anything close to the love she's shown since before Jace and Sky..yeah... After what seemed like forever we pulled away from each other trying to catch a breath. Seeing the completely shocked look on her face as she slowly put a couple fingers to her lips was too damn cute. I stood up and offered my hand.

      After she took it and I helped her to her feet I then made sure she was facing me so as to not see what I was about to do I used creation magic to make a queen sized bed. It had what appeared to be an extremely comfortable mattress as well as a bunch of fluffy pillows and a full sized comforter.

         "Lily..-. I said as I continued to look deep into her eyes.

       "Yes Alice?."

                 "I want to finish making the contract..."

        "Finish the conr-... You did understand what that takes when I hinted it to you right?.."
      
 
                   "Yes." I said with conviction. Before anything else could be said I grabbed her waist pulling her in for one more kiss. Then, before I could think about it too much, I suddenly lifted her up and threw her back onto the bed watching her eyes go wide as she landed on the bed that wasn't there just a minute ago.

       Keeping up the momentum of the situation I quickly hopped on the bed and sat straddling her. Pulling my hair back out of my face I leaned down, and just before our lips met once again I said just once more.

          "I know exactly what it means..."
