Alice's POV
"Sweet dreams little one."
"Aren't you gonna lay with me moma?"
"Of course my love, I just want to step outside and get some fresh air real quick. As soon as I'm done I'll come lay with you."
"Promise?"
"I promise Rose, now close your eyes and get some sleep ok?"
"Kay.."
After I knew that Rose had fallen asleep I slowly headed out the front door and stood on the porch. Leaning on the railing and looking towards the sky I pretended to be looking at the stars.
I noticed a couple weeks ago that some people had started watching us 24/7. To say it was creepy and annoying seems like it would be an understatement. But since none of them do any more then survey me I figured I'd avoid blowing my cover as well as avoid any drama or bullshit.
But they've doubled in number and have been giving off a more malicious aura ever since I ran into that supposed traveling merchant from the Holy Empire. That alone is enough to tell me that I was right to worry about him.
Apparently the church just couldn't let it go, they couldn't just accept that that piece of shit headmaster deserved what he got and looked the other way. But why now? Why, even though they've been watching for so long, have they decided to do something now?
'I bet it's because Lily's gone... They were probably terrified of her...'
I had to swallow down the sad feeling that was threatening to overwhelm as I thought about her. Nows not the time to fall apart, I have to remember that I have Rose now, I have to take care of her. We need to get away from here. It honestly hurts to have to leave this house behind, me and Lily spent so much time together here...
But I know she would tell me to make sure that Rose was safe before anything else. And that's what I'm going to do.
With a long exasperated sigh, I then melted into the shadows nearby. Traveling through the shadow realm I ended up in the shadow of one of my stalkers. They kept looking around trying to figure out where I had went.
Altogether there seemed to be four of them here. Wanting to end this quickly and quietly I decided to make them all disappear together. So using shadow magic I then made their own shadows pull them in quickly like sinking sand. It wasn't long until all four of them were in the shadow realm with me and were losing their shit.
"The shadow realm can have you, think of it as my thanks for letting me use this realm.” I said to no one in particular, effectively making the people freak out even more.
"Sacrifice Accepted"
'Wait, did the shadow realm just respond to me? Whatever, I'll worry about that later, I need to get to work.'
Re-Emerging from the shadows on the porch, I went inside and got busy. I quickly went around the house and put everything of importance in my spacial storage before going over and laying down with Rose for a little. I did promise her I would after all.
After laying there lost in thought for about an hour or two I decided it was better to do this now rather then later. Carefully getting back up and gently picking up Rose so I wouldn't wake her, I then teleported to one of my old safe houses on the edge of the continent, right next to the sea.
I then slowly lay Rose down on the bed and went around making sure everything was still secure and that there was nothing to worry about. After making sure there wasn't even a single person in a ten mile radius, I then teleported back to our house.
Staring at the front of the house as memories of me and Lily played in my mind, I then used a Devine Flame spell and let it build up in my hand for a minute.
"Goodbye Lily.... I'll never forget you love..." With that, I then willed the flame in my hand, which had turned a dark purple, to cover everything. The house, the surrounding property, everything. The divine flame made extremely quick work of everything and it wasn't long before there was nothing but ash and glowing embers.
'Find us now bitch....'
