Chapter 78

                       Galvos' POV

            'Finally!! Finally I get the upper hand!!...'

     That fool fell right into my trap. This couldn't have worked out any better then this. Me and the rest of the council stood behind a protective barrier just outside of the building the ritual was taking place in.

     Everything was going perfectly. Sure there was a couple hundred lives lost as she rampaged through and yes there was quite an abundant amount of damage done to the capital. But it was all worth it.

          "What exactly is this Gavos? What are you attempting to do?"

                   "All in good time Kalen."

                             "Preposterous, do you not remember how thin the ice is that you walk up on? Must you really press your luck?"

                   "Fine Delmare, if you all insist I'll tell you now. The trap in which our prey so easily stepped in, is a magic not seen since the Titan age. It is a Soul Seal unlike any other!!"

                                             "Titan age? Soul Seal? Where did you even find such ancient magic and what does it do?"

                     "You see, it was originally designed to seal a titan. One of my research teams unearthed it on a hidden island in the middle of the sea.

    But sealing them wasn't all it was to do. You see, during the Titan war, the gods discovered that the only thing capable of killing a Titan, was the power of a Titan.

     So using this ritual, they were able to not only seal a Titans soul but also wield it in the form of a weapon. Now do you understand?"

                "Wait... so you're saying that not only have you recovered this ritual but you actually managed to lure that monster into it? Maybe we were wrong about you Gavos. If this actually works I will gladly reinstate all of your lost privileges."

     Yes!!! That's exactly what I was hoping for!! Turning back to watch the ritual proceed I noticed the light start to fade ever so slightly.

             'It's almost complete!!....'

    The second the light fully faded I dropped the protective barrier and all four of us slowly entered the building. The formation and runes carved into the ground were still glowing red hot as if they were carved with plasma.

     And directly in the center where that girl should be was instead not one but two black and purple swords. They were both about three feet in length, had a single edge with a purple sheen to it and the handles were emanating a blackish mist.

      The only difference in the two blades was that one was coated in a black flame and the other was coated in a purple flame. The sheer raw power coming from the blades was nearly overwhelming.

            "You've done it.... You've actually done it Gavos.."

                      "Indeed I have Kalen."

     Suddenly Delmare started to walk forward in an attempt to grab the blades. However, as he went to lay his hand on one he was instantly engulfed in black flame and turned to nothing but ash in mere seconds.

             "Delmare!! Gods damnit Gavos!! What just happened?!?!"

                       "Relax Kalen, that fool shouldn't have tried anything without me saying too. I hadn't had the chance to explain before he acted but I knew there was a chance of this."

              "Explain. Quickly."

                          "You see gentlemen, it isn't just a blade but a living weapon. It does contain a soul after all. Without the proper magics and time to break it down, it will choose who wields it. But worry not, I know the spells required, it will take some time but we will be in control."

       No sooner had I finished explaining, I heard a weird shuffling behind me. Turning around I saw that monsters child running to the blades. Not only that but she was able to pick them up unharmed.

               "Oh no you don't you insolent welp!!"

      Just as she had turned and started to try to run away, I launched a fire spell and hit her directly in the shoulder, causing her to drop one of the blades. But before I could fire off a second spell to finish her for good, I was suddenly blinded by a bright light.

     When it faded and I was able to see again both the girl and the sword she still held were gone.

           "Nnnnnoooooo!!!!! Find that stupid child!!! Find her now!!!!"
