Alice's POV
After running for awhile along the route I had gotten from the knight's memory, I could see a part of the outpost that everyone's meeting at. I didn't even bother to slow down until I was almost to the gate.
There was a mixture of both fully armored knights and every day guards running about. Noticing me approaching at such a high speed a few of them grabbed their weapons while also yelling for the others.
As funny as it is to see them freak out because of me, their reaction is understandable. With the way things currently are I doubt anyone comes this way. Even the reinforcements that were being sent here arrived by teleportation.
I'm seriously not in the mood to deal with any bullshit right now, but I suppose it is my fault for just randomly going up to the gate.
Just before I had gotten close enough for anyone to see what I looked like, I quickly used both a transmutation spell to change my hair and eye color as well as cast a concealment spell to mask my aura and magical signature.
I left this gods forsaken continent for a reason after all. I won't take even the slightest chance of being recognized. And just for added effect, I even pulled the hood to my cloak up just enough to cover my eyes as well as put on a black and purple facemask that only covered the lower half of my face.
"You there, state your name and reason for being here." One of the knights said as I walked closer. He had his sword unsheathed and at the ready."You have neither the classification nor the authority to know who I am. I request that you bring out the one in charge of this outpost."
"Classification?.. Do you think this a game? This is a military outpost in direct control of the King of Enfrite. State your identity and business here or be struck down."
'Ok.. I really don't have time this..'
Before the guy could so much as blink I had already taken his sword and was standing directly behind him. With a quick kick to the back of his knee cap, I sent him to his knees and had his own blade pressed to his neck.
The others nearby suddenly panicked once they realized what happened. They quickly surrounded me with their weapons drawn. I simply ignored them and leaned in closer to the knights ear.
"Trust me, if I had wanted to do anything, you would all already be dead. I'm not exactly in the best of moods and my patience is wearing thin. I will only say it once more, bring me the one in charge..."
"I would believe that it is me that you are looking for."
Turning towards the sound of the voice, I saw a average looking guy in golden armor walking through the gate. He appeared to be in his early thirties with golden hair to match his armor. He stood at about five foot for and seemed rather lean under his armor.
Releasing my hold on the knight and helping him to stand, I handed him back his sword then walked up to the new guy. Wanting to hurry this along already, I took out the pendant the Beast King gave me that held his royal insignia.
I had gotten it from him when I first started working for him, it allowed me to freely go where I needed without anyone hassling me about who I am or what I was doing.
I handed him the pendant and stood there silently while he inspected it. After making sure it was real and not a forgery, he sighed and handed it back.
"Very well.... Open the gates and stand aside." He called over to the guards before turning back to me. "Follow me, the rest of your group arrived about twenty minutes ago. They are currently with the rest that were summoned here waiting to be briefed on the situation. You should probably join them."
I just gave him a slight nod and motioned for him to lead the way. After releasing yet another long sigh, he turned and started walking into the outpost. Remaining silent, I followed him through the main part of the outpost and up to a side building.
It was about as big as a three story parking garage. Going through the doors and pushing through the crowd of knights, I realized that this must be some sort of training arena.
Other then the hundreds of knights from various kingdoms as well as a few dozen high ranked adventurers, there wasn't anything else in the building. Most likely any training equipment and the like were removed prior to everyone's arrival.
If I had to guess, this was most likely the only building in the outpost that was big enough for this many people to gather together to be briefed on the situation.
It only took a second to spot the rest of the people that were sent by the Beast King. They stuck out like a sore thumb, seeing as how they were the only beastkin presently in this area.
Standing directly next to them were a group of knights that stood out almost just as badly. Besides the fact that their armor was green and silver and visibly gave off a magical glow, none of them were currently wearing their helmets but holding them instead.
Anyone in the room could see their long pointed ears sticking out from their hair. All of them shared similar hair color as well, in different shades of white or silver.
However, as interested in the Elven knights as I was, I just want to get this over with. Ignoring them and walking straight up to the group of beastkin, I decided to drop my transfiguration spell and removed my hood leaving only the mask on.
As soon as I got close someone was already walking up to me. After they removed their hood as well I realized it was that foxkin that the Beast King tried to introduce me to. I think her name was Larain or something.
"So you actually showed up huh?"
