Alice's POV
As soon as midnight came around I donned my usual gear. Black combat boots, black tight fitting pants, black belt with multiple sheaths for my throwing knifes, black tight fitting shirt, sheaths on my back for my two katanas and a black hooded cloak. All of which were enchanted with both defense and speed enhancements.
To avoid suspicion from being seen leaving the inn so late I used my spacial magic to teleport to an alleyway near the temple. Taking a look around I noticed that there were plenty of guards patrolling the area outside. Using shadow magic to hide myself I quickly made my way past them all and onto the roof. Glancing in the nearest window I didn't even bother seeing if it was locked. But instead teleported inside still concealing myself in the shadows.
According to the information I got the head priest locked himself in his office on the top floor every night doing who knows what. Using my sensory magic to get a layout of where everyone was in the building. Finding his magical signature not far from me I headed towards him. 'Finally.. this is it..' I thought to myself as I drew closer.

Third Person POV
An older man in white robes can be seen sitting behind a desk muttering to himself. This man was the local head priest and he looked rather worse for ware. He had an overly long unkempt grey beard and dark bags under his eyes like he hadn't taken care of himself nor had any decent rest in a long while.
He kept glancing around the room and muttering to himself as though he was afraid of something. Even though he had the door to his office as well as the windows tightly locked and secured with barrier magic he still seemed afraid that someone or something was going to pop up at any moment.
Reaching into a draw under his desk he pulled out a bottle of some kind of alcohol and a small glass to pour it in. As he poured himself a glass and took a long deep swig he started to relax a bit.
"Just nerves.. that's right simply nerves.." He chuckled to himself. "It has already been a little over two years and nothing has happened. I need to get ahold of myself." He said aloud to no one in particular.
A couple more swigs of his drink and his muttering stopped as he started to relax a bit more. Standing up he walked over to one of his windows and looked out into the night. Noticing that not only had it started raining but flashes of lightning struck the sky. Giving off a rather sinister look. He started to get that uneasy feeling again. Using his magic to sense the magical energy around him he noticed nothing out of the ordinary yet that feeling wouldn't go away.
Contemplating what it could possibly be while still looking out the window and unusually bright flash of lightning temporarily blinded him and all of the candles in his office blew out making it pitch black. As soon as his eyes adjusted and another stoke of lightning struck the sky he saw a reflection in the window that shook him to his core. Not daring to turn around he hoped he was simply seeing things as a pair of deep dark glowing purple eyes reflected on the window from behind him.
After rubbing his eyes a couple times he realized he wasn't seeing things as the glowing purple orbs were still there. It was then that he knew who was there and what they were there for.
Sighing and taking one more deep swig of his drink he set the cup down and without turning around he simply stated, "So.. it has been you all this time. You being here must mean that tonight will be my last." Then turning around to face the hooded figure he asked, "Would you care to hear my reasoning behind it all before we proceed?"
"......."
"Very well then. It's as I deserve." He sighed while regret and guilt filled him to the brim. "Then let this old fools last words be of some use. Just know, that while it was me who sent you three there it was the objective of someone a lot higher up then I. For the head of the entire church, the pope, is behind everything."
No sooner had he finished speaking the hooded figure could be seen pulling a black katana from their back. And as the blade started to glow a purple as deep and brilliant as their eyes the figure made a quick horizontal movement with the blade. Seconds later the hooded figure all but vanished and the candles were once more lit as if they had never went out. And falling to the floor the head priest could be seen with a deep cut across his throat as he bled out and the last bit of life left his eyes with his final breath.
