                   Vicebrook's POV

'Wait, the woman she had to kill?...'

I'm confused, this woman is clearly not dead. I mean, she's sitting right in front of me. Does she maybe mean she's going to to have to kill her? If so then for what reason?

"I can tell you're confused. I don't blame you, I'm confused as well."

Well that doesn't clear anything up. If anything it makes it worse. I'm starting to worry that Alice may be a bit less sane then I thought. I hope that's not the case, especially since I have to tell her about the letter I received.

"So, care to elaborate at all Alice?"

"Well, you might as well have a seat and I'll tell you."

Seems like this may take a little while, but either way I'll gladly take a seat like she said. It'll give those two more time to get here before I have to tell her everything. Grabbing a chair from the desk nearby, I pulled it closer and took a seat in front of the two woman.

"Ok, I might as well start at the beginning-...."

As I was listening to her story I was at a loss of what to think, it was almost like I was on a rollercoaster of emotions during her story. First complete shock and slight fear as I found out that the cloaked woman sitting in front of me was actually a Divine class Fenrir in human form.

'You have got to be fucking kidding me...'

It just went from there, disbelief that a Fenrir would actually make a contract with a human, slight awkwardness as she told me of them falling for each other then utter sadness and more disbelief as I heard what happened leading up to her killing the Fenrir.

Honestly I'm not entirely sure if I can believe what I'm hearing. It's just way to far fetched and out there. Then again, the raw and intense aura coming from the woman, even if she wasn't a Fenrir she's definitely Divine class. In fact, the only other person I've felt an aura this strong from was Alice.

'Great... there's two of them, gods help us all...'

Once Alice had finished her story she paused to give me a moment to soak it all in.

"Indeed, this does seem impossible and honestly sounds a bit much to believe. But the hurt in your eyes makes me want to. But all that aside, what did you need me for?"

"I've seen a lot... A hell of a lot more then I should have for sure.. But I've never even heard of something like this happening. I figured if you had as many connections as it would take to find out so much about me, then maybe you would know someone who can help...."

That actually makes sense. She knows how well she hid her own trail. It wasn't easy to get where we are today, I spent a long ass time trying to meet as many powerful figures as I could and find out as much as possible. It was necessary in order to make this operation possible.

"Actually... -" I was suddenly interrupted by a knock on the door. A moment later and Larain walked in, followed by Zayne.

'Thank the gods they thought to look here for us...'

"As I was saying Alice, I actually know someone who can help you with this. But the thing is, you must do three things in return."

"What do I have to do?.."

"First, you have to be able to leave Mrs. Lily in my care, I swear on my life that she'll come to no harm. Secondly, you must not speak to anyone about me helping you..."

"I doubt you could harm her if you tried.." She laughed even though you could tell she was completely serious. "If it actually helps her then I'll do what I must. But know this, if you're lying or if anything happens to her, I'll kill you and everyone else in this kingdom.. What's the third thing?"

Ok, I admit I wasn't really expecting that answer. The worst thing is I know she's capable of doing it. I need to proceed cautiously from here on out.

"Lastly, I need you to remain absolutely calm and collect. To not react too harshly at what I'm tasked with telling you next..."

At this age frowned and gave my a curious glance. I'm so damn glad the other two are here right now. Although I'm not entirely sure if they'll make much of a difference honestly.

"Ok? I can't make any promises but I will try. What is it you need to tell me? And is it more important then this? Because if not then-"

"It is... I know that it is with complete certainty. Alice, the thing is.. I received a letter from the Beast King yesterday, pertaining to you..."

"The Beast King? What would he wa.... Rose... Is it anything about Rose? Did something happen?"

She stood up staring at me while pacing. She was already close to panicking. First this impossible situation with the Fenrir and directly at the same time I have to give her this kind of news....I feel like absolute shit right now for having to do this to her.

"Remember what I said about staying calm.... Zayne. The parchment please."

As soon as Zayne handed me the letter, I went to pass it to Alice. But she snatched it out of my hand in a blink and started reading it. Not long after an immense pressure the likes I've never felt before was pressing down on us all.

All of us but the Fenrir were forced to our knees. Forcing my head up to look at Alice I could visibly see a solid black aura around her. It looked as if she were covered in pitch black flames and her eyes were glowing purple.

This kind of reaction is what I feared. But both Larain and Zayne seem just as immobilized as I was. She's just too damn strong.

Then just as the pressure was getting too much to handle, it was gone in the blink of an eye. But so was Alice.... Shakily standing back up, all three of us shared a worried yet knowing look.

"Get there as fast as possible... we're already at war with the demons, we really can't afford to be at war with the empire too..."
