Unknown POV
"Your excellence, the ship you have been waiting for has just reached our docks. Shall I send someone to collect them?"
"Yes. Have them brought to the council hall immediately."
"Yes, your excellence, at once."
So that bastard actually pulled it off did he? That is great news indeed. We finally have what we need to neutralize our biggest threat. I must inform the others immediately.
Grabbing my staff and heading towards the council hall I activated a specific communication stone as I walked. It was one that every member of the council had and it allowed us all to communicate at once.
"Gentlemen, bear great news, great news indeed."
"What is it this time Gavos?"
"To contact us all directly, this had better be good. Do you know how expensive these stones are?"
"Oh shut it Delmare, let him speak."
"I request an immediate council, you're all going to like what I have just acquired. Meet me in the council hall in five minutes."
With that I cut the communication, not allowed them to speak anymore. They would just have to wait and see when they arrive.
Once I reached the council hall, I swiftly walked over to my throne and took a seat while waiting for the others. It was long before each of the three other thrones started to glow.
Behind each of them lay a secret Spacial magic portal. It allowed for instant travel from one place to another and vice versa. The only drawback of this particular magic is that it can only be cast to connect one place to another and never anywhere else.
That and it had to be constantly fed ones mana to operate and it required quite a bit. But that is a trivial matter since we let slaves drain their mana for it. And we always have extra in case ones mana pool isn't big enough and it drains their life force.
Not long after the portals activated my fellow council members stepped through and took their seats.
"Ok Gavos, we're here. What is it that's so important?"
"Patience Remnes, all in due time. First let me ask you this, have any of you made any progress in eliminating our biggest threat?"
"And you're saying that you have? How do you expect us to believe that?"
"I have discovered that our target actually does hold a weakness. Not only have I discovered this weakness, as of ten minutes ago, I now have it in my grasp."
"Preposterous! We've all tried everything we could against that crazy woman. She has no weakness to speak of..."
"Or so we thought Kalen. Tell me, what if her weakness was her heart? Not literally of course, but the love she holds in it?"
"Love? That monster? She has no love for anyone. Even after running from the academy all those years ago she didn't even look for her parents. As far as we have all learned over the years, she is not but a heartless killer.."
"Yes, yes. We've all witnessed how she could be, but she does actually, have something she holds dear. Or rather someone."
This was getting good. After all the ridicule about my mistakes, I'm finally the one toying with them. With a glance over to one of my servants I simply nodded, indicating to bring them in.
The door opened not long after and in came a team of my best men. In-between them was a metal cage that took four of them to carry. Inside that cage was a small figure with a bag over it's head.
Once they had fully approached the thrones they set it on the ground and kneeled before us. Waving my hand I gestured for them to remove the bag over the figures head.
"Gentlemen, let me introduce you to the key to everything. This little one here is known as Rose.. Alice's daughter..."
