The next evening when the school was heading to its common rooms, a nice group of students were about to gather in the Great Hall for the famous dueling club event. Despite initial perplexity I had agreed to follow the others in this class.

When we entered the great hall the tables had been moved, the only thing present was a small stage as long as half the hall in a golden color, on it were painted the phases of the moon, I had a similar picture in the hall, Dad said Grandma loved these things, unfortunately I never met her but she passed on her love of astronomy to me.

I wondered what professor was going to teach the lesson, Flitwitch was definitely the most suitable teacher to lead a lesson like this, after all being spells's professor, as well as a former champion of the dueling club... we couldn't have had a better teacher. Harry seemed to read my mind wondering what teacher we thought would lead this lesson but our enthusiasm was quenched as soon as we saw Lockhart and his unmistakable blond curls and in a combat outfit worthy of a plum-colored prince take the stage.

"Come closer! Come closer! Can you all see me? Can you all hear me? " he exclaimed attracting everyone's attention, looking quite at ease, on stage at the center of attention, I rolled my eyes making Ron and Harry laugh but getting a dirty look from Hermione who as soon as she saw him she darted to the front row

"In light of the unfortunate events of the past few weeks, Professor Dumbledore has provided me with permission to start this little dueling club, in order to teach you all in case you ever need to defend yourselves, as I have done on countless occasions, for all the details look at my published masterpieces," he said goggling at some of the girls behind us, took off his cloak and tossed it to them, the girls were so excited that their legs seemed to give way.

"Let me introduce you to my assistant today, Professor Snape, who has sportingly agreed to a little demonstration" Snape came up to the stage in turn with his usual gloominess and his typical black cape "Now I don't want you to worry, when I am done you will still have your potions professor, don't worry."

I approached toward Ron.

"If the same thing happens as with Harry I doubt we'll see Professor Snape again," we both had to hold back our laughter to avoid disrupting the lesson, but then again only Hermione among us didn't think he was a total incompetent full of himself. I wondered how he could have accomplished all those great victory given his lack of knowledge in any subject....

The two professors arranged themselves facing each other, raised their wands in front of their faces and then let them point next to their sides, turned their backs and began to walk to the ends of the table, each putting himself in the fighting position he thought most effective.
