Soon the flashlight I had taken from the hut went out, and Harry and I had to cast Lumos, a new spell to produce light that Flitwitch had taught us in class. Although it wasn't very useful, I could barely see three feet from my wand. Ron had preferred not to try it, the wand would probably have exploded or something, and I didn't blame him... that magic tape hadn't done much and the wand was about as predictable as a pixie...

The spiders continued on and after more than twenty minutes in the woods they were showing no signs of fatigue, in fact they seemed almost to be quickening their pace. I took Ron's hand, more to reassure him but also to make sure he would not run away at any moment. I knew my best friend, and ever since Fred and George had turned one of his puppets into a giant spider he was taking his phobias and those of others seriously.

We followed the path for quite a while but came to a point in the dense forest where the spiders were leaving the path. Harry did not hesitate for a second; I stayed close to him.

We kept following them, trying not to trip over the big roots of the branches that seemed to get bigger and bigger as our clothes kept getting caught in the brambles and thorns of the low plants. I was going to have pants full of holes by the time we got back. Dad would not have been thrilled but neither would he have been surprised.

The spiders went into a narrow, low hole created by the roots

"Harry I don't like this...can we go back now?" whimpered Ron terrified, there were hundreds of spiders, if I had been afraid of them I would have felt exactly like him too. I squeezed his hand and continued to follow Harry, taking him with me. Beyond the tunnel I saw the moonlight finally peeking through the dry branches of the trees.

Trees, however, that seemed to have grown four times larger than normal. Unfortunately, I had to agree with Ron... the atmosphere was not the most promising. We heard a creaking sound, a loud noise of broken branches, we turned in that direction but heard the same sound coming from another part and another, I clutched to Ron and called Zanna close to me... where the hell had we gotten ourselves?

"Nox!" I turned off the wand light and held it firmly in my hands in front of me and Ron, protection was the best choice at the moment "Harry? Harry come back here!" I whispered, shouting to my friend who hearing more creaking decided to move closer to the noise.

"Who is it?" asked a deep voice that echoed in every corner of the forest causing us to back away "Hagrid? Is that you?"

"We are friends of Hagrid's," Harry answered him taking another step forward, seeing him so sure I took a step forward too, Ron attached to my side.
