Leo had sat through an emotional roller coaster for the past 45 minutes. This included, throwing things, crying, cursing, silence, then more crying. Thank god he was the mature of the group. And throughout all of this, he was still managed to stay stunned by the fact Mona lived in a place like hers. The Stockmans' lived on the very top floor of one of the Upper East Side's swanky block of penthouses, meaning Mona's grandad must have left a hell of business. The wall was panelled with glass, revealing a breathtaking view of the city. Across the living room were two pillars on opposite ends, and round the corner lead to the kitchen, which looked like a hollywood star's make up trailer, the marble counters and glass cabinets glistening as the city lights shone through. The white living room was lit with fairy lights and an expensive silver chandelier dangling from the high ceiling. Leo also noticed the spiralling staircase by the door leading to the balcony, and god knows what was upstairs.
'Is she prettier than me?'
Leo was hesitant to this question, but snapped out of his daydream.
'Don't be ridiculous. Raph wouldn't have done what he did because of Dakota's looks.' He argued, unsure if this would reassure her.
Mona wimpered, frowning. Leo grabbed her shoulders, squeezing them gently.
'Hey, you cry anymore you'll end up shrivelling.' He joked, grinning slightly. This gained a small smile from Mona and he smiled back at her.
'That's more like it.'
Mona huffed, resting her head on Leo's shoulder.
'I just can't believe I found out the way I did. And it was as if both of them forgot that I was coming. Raph seemed like he didn't know at all. God, the bitch's nerve.' She mumbled the last bit of her sentence, staring at the floor.
'Well at least you found out eventually. Rather than have someone else tell you.' Leo commented, shrugging at the thought. Mona widened her eyes at what he said. That's funny. Casey and April were rather weird today. Coincidence much. She shook off the thought and went back into her absent minded daze.
'Whatever. I'm just looking forward to California and never seeing that backstabbing bitch for the rest of my life.' She muttered, rolling her eyes.
Leo laughed, shaking his head.
'Still can't believe you got Dakota to leave the city.'
'Well, that's Mona Stockman for ya.'
The two of them sat in silence for a moment, but it felt like they were still talking. They didn't even have to talk to see through each other.
'You know Leo, you may be one of the biggest dorks I have ever met, but you're a good friend. Your the first person I've known who can tolerate my bitchiness without ya know, going crazy.'
Leo moved his head to the side, blushing briefly.
'First turtle actually. And you have school tomorrow, so shouldn't you be in bed?' He teased, standing up.
Mona tutted rolling her eyes.
'And you also happen to be my second mother.' She scoffed at him, slouching on the sofa. Leo stood patiently waiting for her to get up also.
'If that's the case.'
Mona smirked raising her arms.
'Carry me.' She whined, traveling back a year or 10. Leo scoffed widening his baby blue eyes at her in shock.
'You're kidding right?'
Mona shook her head, waving her arms round slightly. Leo sighed, scooping her off the couch, carrying her bridal style. He glanced up at the stairs, pulling a face reading many emotions.
'Well, get to it.' She snapped in a jokey manner. He made his way down the living room, up the spiralling staircase.
'Leo, if by our mid thirties we're still single, promise we'll marry each other?' She mumbled, closing her eyes, burying her head in his chest.
Leo simply chuckled at that.
'Sure.'
'Good good.' The last thing Mona said, before it went black before her eyes.
