'I heard she was drink driving.'
'She can't even drive.'
'Probably another mystery boyfriend.'
'Or girlfriend.'
Second period and people still couldn't keep their trap shut. Geez, it was just a car accident. Mona hopped down the hallway of Roosevelt High, trying to ignore the attention she received, good and bad. Some said she was faking, the 'accident' just a way to get sympathy votes for Homecoming, but most thought it was genuine. Of course it was! She wouldn't claw her face and temporarily retire from her life just for a few votes. Whatever.
April and Casey watched as Mona walked past them. April's blue eyes still lingered, Cassy unfortunately noticing.
'Don't say anything-'
But April had already gone after her.
'Stupid.'
Mona jumped, bumping into April he moved in front of her.
'Look, Mona, Casey and I didn't blabber about it to the whole school. Leo told us, I told Casey, Victoria overheard, and well...'
Mona scoffed.
'Whatever, I would have had to tell people anyway. So she did me a favour, wouldn't have wanted to sound obnoxious.' She jeered, moving past her.
April rolled her eyes, stamding in her place.
'I didn't expect you and Leo to fight cos I told him the situation between us, but you can't keep blaming us for your change of attitude.'
Mona stopped but didn't turn back. An evil smile appeared on her face before falling into a scowl.
'Watch me.'
Then April watched her wonder down the halls. She then chuckled, turning on her heels, going back to Casey. He observed the grin on her face, making him suspicious.
'What you smiling about?'
'I have no idea.'

Mona stood outside her English classroom, exhaling slowly. She looked through the small windown, gritting her teeth when she saw Victoria. Ugh. She finally entered the classroom, the room falling quiet. Conversations about Homecoming turned into conversations about Mona, and that wasn't often a problem, until now. She moved to her seat at the back of the classroom, on her way there she received condolences and wishes. She just awkwardly smiled at everyone. She got forgot how all the decent people in sophomore year were in this very class, apart from Victoria, whom soon turned around her flowing blonde hair falling swiftly behind her. She flashed a bright smile at Mona.
This should be interesting.
'I heard about the accident. How are you?'
Mona bit down in her tongue as she reluctantly smiled back at her.
The whole school heard bitch.
'I'm fine, only a few weeks until I can stand on my own two feet again.'
Attention seeker much?
'That s great to hear. A few of the girls and I are going Macy's after school, pre preparing for the big night. Wanna join?'
I'd rather die.
'I'd love to.'
Ugh.
'Can't wait.'
Mona gave her a fake smile, pulling a wretched face when she turned away.

'It has been two days, and she hasn't answered my calls or texts! What is she doing?!'
Raph sniggered, watching his brother freak.
'It's only Wednesday, and ever considered she's not answering your calls because she's in school?'
'Or she doesn't like you?'
'Mikey!' Everyone exclaimed together.
'What?'
Leo just scoffed, throwing his phone on the floor.
'What time is it?'
'Why didn't you check it before your oscar award winning performance just then?' Raph jeered, playfully.
Leo stepped on the home button of his t-phone screen, staring at the homescreen. 3:40. Not as id Mona had plans.
'See ya!'
He saluted everyone, exiting the room.
Raph clapped slowly, pointing at Leo before turning back to his brothers.
'That is not how to get a girlfriend.'
Donnie laughed.
'Mona moved on from you to Leo.'
Raph sniffed, lifting his head.
'Touché.'

'And he was like: 'you might not be able to dance, but if you can, I' willing to take the chance' it was adorable, and he's a senior. My dress is gonna match his tie, no, we're not going to hook up afterwards! I got to go now, I'm going to Macy's with that bitch Victoria and her entourage. Okay love you grandm.' Mona blew a kiss through the phone, before hanging up. She turned a corner, then stood there in frustration.
'What the hell do you want?' Mona questioned, she meant to sound sassy, but sounded pissed.
'Can we talk, please?'
Mona stared Leo in the eyes, her cold heart beginning to melt.
Don't don't,
'We have nothing to talk about.' She turned around and beginning to walk. She squealed when she was being swept off her feet, her crutches falling on to the floor. Leo picked them up for her and she wiggled around frantically.
'What's wrong with you?! I'm being kidnapped here!' She screamed, kicking her legs around.
Leo laughed walking into downtown. Once they reached an alley, he put her down, giving her crutches back. She snatched them off him, placing them under her arms. She glared at him long and hard, which made him laugh.
'I'm sorry.'
'I know.'
'Then why aren't we talking?'
Mona shrugged.
'Because I'm still pissed.'
Leo sighed his blue eyes moving everywhere.
'Things don't have to be like this. Complicated.'
'Tell that your ex girlfriend?'
Leo scoffed, folding her arms.
'Karai and and I never dated.'
'You wish.'
'Whatever. Look, I felt so bad when I lashed out on Monday, it was out of order and so out of my place. And I get why you probably hate him.'
Mona sighed, staring at the floor.
'I couldn't hate you if I tried. And I know I'm a bitch.'
'Then why are you mad at me?'
'Because you were my only friend that didn't seem to be a bitch. You were different, you thought of me differently. But now things have changed. So have I.' She turned to walk, beginning to slowly hop away.
'I still think of you differently, I can prove it too.'
'How do you plan on doing that?'
Leo smirked, grabbing Mona's arm and spinning her in his direction. She looked in confusion, leaning against him.
''W-w-what are you doi-'
She was cut off by his lips pressing against hers, leaving her by surprise. She felt like laughing, this is was so unlikely of him. He even had her arms round her waist and everything. Mona finally kissed him back, smiling against his lips. She liked it. A lot. A moment later, she pulled away, standing on her tip toes and resting on her neck.
'I'm still mad.' She teased, grinning.
'Oh please, give the innocent guy a break.'
Mona scoffed, looking up at him in amazement.
'Please, you're just as innocent as Raph.'
Leo gaped, moving a hand to his chest.
'Take that back.'
'Wish I could but I don't have the receipt.'  She snapped her fingers in a z formation.
'That hurt.'
Mona shrugged, then smiled smugly in a jokey manner.
'Good.' She heard her phone vibrate, the clicked her tongue.
'I have to go.'
'Where?'
'Victoria and I are going Shopping.'
Leo blinked, then moved his hands onto her arms.
'Victoria. Right erm-wait I ermmm, I just wanted to let you know...'
Mona raised her eyebrow, raising up her top lip.
'I'm just glad we're okay.'
Mona tilted her head, before quickly kissing his lips, getting a better grip of her crutches.
'Who said we're okay?' She winked playfully then made her way out of the alley. Leo was left, dazzled, he made her way to the rooftops, laughing to himself.
'April? You still there?'
April coughed, watching Mona walk from round the bend.
'Yeah I'm still there.'
Dakota smiled in relief.
'Good. You've sound like you've seen a ghost.'
April chuckled, shaking her head.
'Trust me, if I saw a ghost I would be less freaked out.'

Leo sauntered into the dojo, whistling to himself. He sat by Master Splinter, watching the sparring match between Raph and Donnie. Master Splinter turned to Leo his face reading suspicion,
'where have you been?'
Leo looked up at Sensei.
'Just so see Mona.'
He felt Sensei's eyes roll as he looked away, making him chuckle. He began to pay attention to the match again when he saw Donnie being thrown into the floor, his bo staff landing in his face. Raph towered over his brother, pointing a sai at his face.
'And stay there!'
Everyone who wasn't dying on the floor looked at Raph in shock,  so he awkwardly smiled. He turned to Leo then grinned deviously.
'Your turn.'
He watched his brother slowly get up, walking over to him as he took at his katana. Donnie crawled away from the scene dragging his bo staff with him. Raph gave a sniff of Leo, then scrwed his face, shaking off the smell.
'Why do you smell like such a girl?' He asked, getting into a ready position.
Leo chuckled.
'Be specific.'
'I don't know, specifically a girl from the Upper East Side whom you're not supposed to be talking to?' He added, swinging a sai at his brother, Leo blocked his attack with his katan, pulling his other one out.
'Mona and I are talking now, so.'
Raph groaned, throwing another swing at him which hit him in the waist.
'Did you kiss and makeup up? Because the gloss is still all over your lips. Btw strawberry watermelon is not your colour.' He sneered, hitting him again. Leo winced, moving away and attacking him from the side.
'What's your problem?'
Raph rolled his eyes, grabbing the katansa out of Leo's hand and using one to make him fall to rhe floor. He put his sais back in his belt, before dropping the katanas by Leo.
'My problem is that, you can keep doing this Leo. You're either together or you're not. You can't be in the middle.'
Leo laughed obnoxiously, getting up.
'You hypocrite. Coming from the one sleeping with our friend behind his girlfriend, I mean ex girlfriend's back.'
'That doesn't make me a hypocrite, I'm speaking from personal experience.' He hissed, his green eyes narrowing at him in frustration.
Leo sighed, biting down in his tongue.
'Well, Mona doesn't actually have a problem with it. It's nothing serious. There was a reason why I rejected her, she doesn't know her place right now.'
'Oh and have daily makeout sessions is going to help? Because she isn't already confused enough and you're giving her mixed signals?!' He exlcaimed, waving his hands in the air.
'You know, you were right, you finally getting over your awkwardness wasn't an achievement, I don't even know who you are anymore.' He scoffed, shoving past his brother and storming out the dojo. Leo stammered turning to Sensei to get him to help him out. Sensei laughed, shaking his head.
'This is beyond my control.'
'He's your son! At least give him the talk.'
Sensei turned to Donnie and Mikey, exchanging weird looks before looking back at Leo.
Donnie got up then made his way to his brother, putting a hand in his shoulders.
'I think it's time, you got the talk.'
Leo gaped then moved away, shaking his violently.
'No way, nope. I'm fine seriously, guys, please don't leave me here.' He began to plead as his brothers left room.
Mikey turned and stood by the doorway, looking at Leo sympathetically.
'It's for your own good.' He said before making his exit.
Leo wimpered, turning around to look back at Sensei.
'I have fought, ninja robots, robots in general, over grown animals and plants that never seem to go away and this manages to be the scariest moment of my life.'
