Mona sat at the piano in the corner of her living room, playing random chords. She stopped and rested her head. She couldn't focus lately, and not even music would help chase away this feeling of, she didn't even know. She swivelled round her seat when she heard a knock at the glass door leading to the balcony and smiled brightly to see it was Leo. She rushed into the kitchen, unlocking it from the inside. She welcomed him with a tight hug and playful kiss on the cheek.
'Ugh, I've missed you.' She said as they still held each other in their arms. Leo simply laughed.
'I can tell. And when was the last time you had a cold shower? Seriously, you're boiling.'
Mona huffed as she released him, making her way back into the living room as Leo walked behind her.
'No, that's just stress. I still haven't really had time to adjust, to, everything.' She replied her and Leo flopping onto the white couch in front of the fireplace.
'I get it. But everyone's worried about you, including me.'
Mona's eyes widened at this. She just shook her head, running a hand through her hair.
'Okay. I can't do this anymore. Look. I am honestly over everything with Raph, I"m sure of it now. But last week I wasn't. When we got to Cali, and I saw Ivy, I felt, so, relieved, I had a chance to explain a lot of things, and she listened. Nowadays, she's know as the life of the party, everyone loves and envies her at the same time. She's still a popular girl, just not for the same reasons she was here. And on Friday, she and Victoria and I went to one of her friend's parties, and I did some pretty stupid things there. I hate to have to go into further detail, but somewhere along the lines of being high and uncontrollable laughter, I kinda felt, okay. I know, that sounds stupid, the night could have ended in disaster where someone could have gone home in ambulance, probably me, but I felt like I didn't need to impress anyone. But Leo, I swear to you, you don't have to worry, that was the last of my partying days.'
Leo tilted his head, staring at her intensely.
'I'm just glad your okay, but If anything did happen, I honestly have no idea how I could cope.'
Mona gave him a weary smile, and chuckled.
'You know, the whole time I was hungover on the flight, I couldn't stop thinking about you.'
Leo moved back, his pupils going smaller.
'Should I take that as a compliment?'
'I honestly don't know.' She laughed as she said this.
'But now, the only things I'm thinking about are homecoming, and my upcoming performance at Radio City Hall. But I still haven't chosen a song. I was hoping to get inspiration at Cali but the only I got was same sex marriage and beach parties.'
Leo rolled his eyes, chuckling.
'Gimme your phone.'
Mona raised an eyebrow, taking her phone at of her pocket and placing it in his hand.
'That is a rare pink edition of the iphone 6, drop it, I'll drop you off the Chrysler Building.' She smiled smugly then innocently at him.
'Wow, you always know how to make someone feel good about themselves.' He teased in a sarcastic tone. He scrolled through Mona's recently played playlist, screwing his face at the songs there.
'Why is Gangnam Style even on here?' He questioned, grimacing at the sight of it on the screen.
'Don't ask.'
He nodded slowly, passing Mona back her phone.
'Conqueror.'
'Hun?'
'There's your song. Unless there's another song which has been played 78 times.'
Mona sighed and stared at Leo in admiration.
Leo gave her a crooked grin.
'What?'
'How do you do it?'
'What?'
'See right through me?'
Leo laughed, shrugging at this question.
'I have my ways.'
Mona propped her legs on the arm rest, resting her head on Leo's knees.
'Mona, it's 5:00.'
'Who said I planned on sleeping?' She snapped jokingly.
They laughed again together at this, then admired each other's faces for a long time. Mona pushed herself upwards, causing her to sit on his lap.
'You seem awfully comfortable.'
'Friends should be comfortable around friends right?' She questioned, biting down her lip.
'Dunno, how comfortable exactly?' Leo had a feeling on where this was heading.
Mona grinned against his lips.
'Well, let's see.'
Leo enjoyed the comfort of Mona's warm lips. He smiled between kisses, his arm around her waist tightly. It was a long lasting moment, and a wake up call for Mona. Anyone else didn't matter, it was Leo. It always had been. Mona reluctantly pulled away, her arms still round his neck.
'Well, seems like we're very comfortable around each other. Btw, you're an awful kisser.' She joked, unraveling herself from Leo's grasp and getting up.
Leo scoffed, amused and offended.
'You didn't happen to be saying whilst you were sucking my face for three minutes.' He protested.
'Three minutes I'll never get back.' She joked further, sitting back at the piano.
Leo rolled his eyes in amazement and walked down to balcony.
'See you later, buddy.'
Mona waited for him to fall out of sight, then squealed in her seat.
Leo stood on the apartment rooftop, overwhelming with feelings at everything that just happened.
'Just friends huh?' He heard from a voice behind him. He turned on his heels, facing his angry brother.
'Raph? You were spying on me? How? Why?'
'Stealth mode takes you to a lot of places my dear brother, but not going to get you between my ex girlfriend's legs!' He exclaimed.
Leo shook his head in disbelief, folding his arms.
'I can't believe you actually I can, because you had always been jealous of Mona and I's friendship!'
'Cos that was sure friendship in her living room! Wait, don't tell me you're-'
'Ew, Raph, no.' He snorted.
'Look, it was a fun kiss, an innocent one.'
'Innocent?! You were sucking each other's faces off!' He shouted.
'You can't make out with a friend, and still be just friends after!!'
'Like you and Dakota huh? But way worse.' Leo snapped. This shut up Raph, temporarily.
'Look brother, hate to break it to you, but we all know you're just a rebound.' He snarled, smirking maliciously. Leo clenched his fists in hurt and anger, moving closer to Raph.
'Take that back.'
'I wish I could, now we need to get home, because the others and I have been planning to show you something.'
