Mona cuddled herself with her flimsy arms as she scurried quickly down 31st avenue and moved one hand through her pockets for her keys. it may have been spring but god was it cold. She was overwhelmed with everything that just happened, she felt pissed, but somewhat relieved, even though she didn't give not only Raphael but everyone a half a piece of her mind, including
'Leo.' Mona jolted back staring at the shellraiser which pulled over by the apartment building. Leo rolled down the window, giving her an infectious grin.
'You need a ride to the airport?'
Mona rolled her eyes, biting down on her lip briefly.
'I'm good.' She was convinced she had him in check, but then she noticed the pleading look on his face. She couldn't help it but get lost in those sparkling blue eyes which made her sort of melt. As Much as she wanted to physically attack him after interfering with what happened with her Dakota and Raph, it was for a good motive right? Ugh, hormones.
'Fine. Lemme grab my stuff.' She opened up the door, and Leo listened to faint steps of her shoes reach for the elevator door. He had a lot of explaining to do, and hopefully, he could do that all in the 40 minutes it took to drive from Mona's to JFK. But knowing this girl, she would be ranting at him for 35 minutes of the journey. He slightly jumped at the noise of Mona's luggage crashing in the back seats, and waited patiently as she got into the front seat, surprised to find out she didn't decide to slam the door behind her. Leo gulped hard, then cleared his throat starting the engine.
'You must be very irritated at the moment.'
Mona remained silent, staring at the window.
See? Usesless.
'Look, what I did wasn't for my benefit. Obviously. But I know, it went awfully wrong.'
Mona laughed, running a hand through her messy dark brown hair.
'Oh no. It couldn't have gone any better.'
This made Leo beam.
'Seriously?!'
'Actually, no. It could have gone better, you know, by not ever happening. Leo, you seriously freaked me out. I thought you actually were in trouble!' Her voice grew louder as she went further into her words. Leo couldn't have felt any guiltier.
'I know, and i'm sorry, but, I felt like I sort of owe Raph after I sort of humiliated him in front of our whole family. The only times he's ever spoken to me this weekend was when he told me stop hogging the TV. But trust me, after what you said, it made what I did look like nothing.' He argued with ease. He knew defending himself wasn't exactly the best idea, but he hasn't exactly been the biggest genius this weekend.
Mona huffed, and grabbed Leo's free hand.
'Leo, you know I love you to the moon and back, you're my best friend and I trust with my life, even after you lied to me but you honestly should just butt the hell out, because, I'm fine. We're all fine, and eventually Raph and I we'll move on, so you should too. You don't owe anyone anything, I mean, I know Raph will always be your brother and all but don't bother proving anything. And whatever you said or did was that bad, you shouldn't have to apologise for it, because I know it was out of love.' Her voice was tender and sincere when she said this, it was a sensitive side to Mona which she never shared with anyone, it was obvious how much Leo's friendship meant to her, and she wasn't willing to throw that away over anything. Leo turned to face her at the traffic light, and beamed brightly at her.
'So you're not mad?'
'Course not. But just to make sure, don't ever scare me like that again you twat because I will have to hurt you.' She snapped at him, punching him in the arm, hard. Leo shook off the pain, as they began to laugh together.
'You're so mean.'
'I know.'

Raph and Casey were down in the lair alone. Everyone had headed off for an early night, and Leo, well, he couldn't care less where he was. Raph was furiously pacing back and forth, his clenched fist, beside his waist, his green eyes had turned possessed, Casey couldn't help but find what he wa witnessing amusing, he still didn't get to laugh out loud.
'Can you believe that nosey little ass kisser. He insults me, gets me into trouble with Sensei, and then gets Mona to just roast me as well! Who would have thought he could be capable of being such a punk ass brat?!' He exclaimed, hitting the wall behind him. Casey folded his legs, and slouched on the sofa.
'Dude, don't you think you're exaggerating. I'm pretty sure he only wanted you to talk to her today so there's less tension before she left town. And how do you think I feel? I mean she totally gave me and April the cold shoulder at school today. Shady much?' He scoffed, tossing his short dark locks on his fave to the side.
Raph grunted falling back and staring at the floor.
'This will never go away, will it? I mean, I have to wake up everyday, knowing I'm the reason Mona isn't talking to all of us apart from Leo, why Dakota left town.'
Casey shot up, staring down at Raph in astonishment.
'She seriously left?!'
Raph nodded reluctantly.
Casey opened his mouth to speak, until he saw Master Splinter walk in. He stood gracefully in front of them, he's attention focused on Casey.
'Casey, don't you think you should be heading home?' He questioned, his voice gradual and tired.
'Alright. See you tomorrow Raph.' He gave him a heads up, before he made his exit.
Raoh groaned, sitting up and burying himself in his hands.
'I know what you're going to say. I'm a disappointment. Trust me, I finally know.'
Sensei mood himself in front of his son, using his tail to lift up his face.
'What makes you think that?'
'Look at me sensei, I cheated on my girlfriend, driving her best friend out of town and now Leo and I aren't even talking. I messed up everything. I know I make fun of him for being such a goody goody two shoes twat and all, but sometimes I wish I could be like Leo.'
'Well, that would be awfully boring. You know, Raphael, even though he may be the most responsible one out of you doesn't make him the wisest. You may be warriors, but at the end of the day you're still teenagers, so you're bound to do something stupid. You get distracted easily, and remember what I said about distractions?'
Raph hesitated, then nodded.
'Well, distractions are caused by not being able to focus on one thing, you understand what I'm trying to tell you?'
Raph nodded again.
'Focusing does a lot for a person, and unless you can focus on the bigger picture, little distractions can create big destruction.'
Raph felt like laughing at that. It was ironic. The bigger picture, Mona Lisa. Well, now she was getting remodelled by it's creator, Leonardo.

You know who lives in California?'
Leo chuckled, then shrugged.
'Ivy.' When she said this name a smirk appeared on her lips.
Leo's eyes widen, he was confused by this.
'I thought she was still in rehab in Colarado.'
Mona shook her head at his.
'Well, she went for a few months, but then she moved in with her mom and her wife just when we starting the 8th grade. And I'm actually super nervous to see her again.'
Leo found her fear adorable. Well, to him she was always adorable.
'She's obviously going to be excited to see you.'
'Maybe not. She doesn't even know I'm coming. In fact I haven't spoken to her in a long time. And to avoid any follow up questions, I know she's in Cali because I still stalk her facebook.'
Leo facepalmed, shaking his head in disappointment. He then pulled over, at the corner of the road, stopping the car engine.
'Well then, I'll see you in two weeks time.' Which to him felt like a lifetime.
'Don't miss me too much.' She teased, hopping out of her seat and grabbing her luggage from the back.
She hurled over Leo's side of the van, her suitcases an backpack being dragged along from behind her. Leo rolled down the window slightly, so only up to his chin showed.
'You're not going to hit me-'
He was cut off by Mona's lips locking with his. The kiss lasted for three seconds, but it was as if it was never ending, which wasn't exactly a bad thing. Mona pulled away, then made her way down to the airport. Leo was left to wonder and replay what happened over and over again into his head, he panted quietly, slouching in his seat.
'She totally didn't hit me.'
