The Preparation

"This is it," I whispered softly to myself as I took my first step out of bed. A week had passed in a blur of anticipation, and now, at last, the day we'd all been waiting for was here. I was about to marry the love of my life.

"Good morning, Mrs. Park," Hyunjae greeted with a bright smile, her eyes shining with excitement.

"Uhh, not yet," I replied with a playful roll of my eyes, leaning in to plant a gentle kiss on her cheek.

"Almost there! Come on, babe, own it," she laughed, her fingers fidgeting with mine as she tried to settle my nerves. "I can't wait to see you walk down that aisle."

"This is it," I murmured, a mixture of nervousness and happiness swirling inside me. "I'm so happy for you."

She squeezed my hand softly. "You deserve every bit of this, you know."

"Thank you for everything," I said with a genuine smile, and we embraced tightly, feeling the warmth of friendship and love.

"Hey, you've earned this moment," she whispered tenderly, her eyes filled with affection. "Now, let's get you ready. We need to be at the hotel in an hour. Hurry."

With that, she gently guided me into the bathroom. I quickly immersed myself in a soothing bath, allowing the calm to settle over me. Despite my efforts to convince myself that this was truly happening, the reality of marrying Jihoon still felt distant—almost surreal.

As I dressed, my mother's warm smile greeted me from the living room.

"My baby's getting married," she said softly, her eyes glistening with tears as she enveloped me in a heartfelt hug. She looked at me with pride and love, her voice trembling slightly.

"Mom? Are you getting emotional again?" I teased, chuckling softly.

She quickly wiped her tears away, laughing through her emotions. "I just can't help it. You're growing up so fast. When did this happen?"

I rested my head on her shoulder, feeling a profound sense of gratitude. My father entered the room, his eyes shimmering with emotion as well. I opened my arms, inviting him into our small moment of family intimacy. For a fleeting moment, I was transported back to when we were a complete family, whole and happy. That warmth, that love—it was what I carried with me now.

"You're not even dressed yet, and you're already stunning," my dad joked, breaking the tender silence.

"Thanks, Dad," I replied softly, feeling a swell of emotion.

Mom hurried us along, eager to get me ready. My father offered a reassuring nod before stepping back. I retreated to my room, sitting down as my makeup artist prepared to enhance my features, each brushstroke bringing me closer to the woman I was about to become.

The Final Look

"Okay, everyone, 3... 2... 1," I counted down softly.

My bridesmaids turned toward me, their eyes wide with admiration. The collective squeal of delight echoed through the room.

"HOLY SHIT, MOMMA, YOU LOOK ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE!" Hyunjae exclaimed, her voice filled with awe.

I spun around, giving a little catwalk, basking in the mirror's reflection of my shimmering dress and radiant smile. This was the happiest I'd ever felt. The confidence, the beauty—it all felt overwhelming in the best way.

They encircled me, showering me with compliments and encouragement, their words weaving a tapestry of love and support.

"You're really doing this," Hyunjae choked out, tears glistening in her eyes.
