He sat down gracefully. He rested his hands on the large wooden table in front of him. He was liking the seat a bit too much, as he tilted his head up a bit in dominance and power.

"Getting comfortable, yet?" A female voice interrupted Rin, who sat on the president seat. Terano glared at him, "it seems like you are getting the hang of it already."

Rin's lips formed into a confident smile. "Ah, Terano." He stood up and looked at her, "You have a chair of your own..." His eyes dropped to the wheelchair she sat on, "why bother over a seat with no wheels..."

"SHUT UP!" her eyes narrowed at him in a hint of anger and frustration only making Rin laugh.

"Calm down," Rin gave her a smile. Of course, not a genuine one. "The grown-ups will decide what action to take in the meeting tonight."

"I'm sure you are hoping to be chosen. May I remind you, no one is going to simply give the leading position away just like that. We both know how the tradition works," Terano glanced away, still angry. She doesn't know if she got herself in a worse situation.

She knew working with another clan member was only temporary. Every 'bami' family branch has one common goal, which is to take down the current head to become the next leader. It was a rotten place to grow up in. One, where you can not trust your own family members. Everyone is seen as a threat, as a competition, to the throne. It is in their blood to kill or be killed.

Your arms were around her, embracing her as if it's been years that were unable to do so. Enjoying every moment you were spending with her, trying to gain back every part of you that got lost trying to figure out what to do without her.

She had her fingers intertwined with yours as you placed a soft kiss on her head. But that moment was ruined.

"I forgot to mention..." her voice trailed off for a brief second, "I spoke to Ichiro."

The pronunciation of that name made you flinch. She sat up properly while you kept your eyes locked with hers. "What?"

"I told you we weren't going to hear of him anymore," She rose from the couch as she walked towards the large glass window. "But at this moment, he'll make such a useful pawn."

You frowned a bit. You didn't like this one bit. "Do you trust him that much?"

"This is a gamble on its own, Y/n," her cheeks were slightly flushed, "I'm willing to take the risk of trusting in someone at the moment," She leaned against the wall and looked at you with a faint smile.

"You are talking like I don't exist," You replied with a sigh following after.

Her eyes closed as she took a deep breath in. She walked towards you and gently cupped your face. She smiled sweetly as her eyes gleamed, "I must ask you something..." You were confused at the change of her demeanour. Her eyes glowed with fascination. Blood rushed over her cheeks making it appear a rosy colour. Her hand ran down your chest, "I must ask you not to intervene. This is my war. I don't want you to—"
