Time to Grow Up

It's been a couple weeks since that night of craziness. Everything was the way I pictured my life to be with minimum drama. Of course there was a little drama because what's a teenager without drama. And the fact that group of friends consists of nothing but assholes and two that happened to be gay assholes. Not trying to be stereotypical but Jamie and Angel were fucking divas but hell even the straight boys were.

Those couple of days I spent with Jaylen was really beneficial to our relationship. We weren't a couple but our relationship as best friends. We both realized that we wanted to let things happen. If we just so happen to put ourselves in a certain situation like kissing or something, then so be it. Just sitting back and letting the waves take us wherever they want. Even if it lands us in the middle of nowhere.

Me and his mom have been talking more and more now. We're closer than ever now because I've been at her house so much. We talked about her past relationships and her current. She's dating this man name Keith and Jaylen and Josie really likes him. He's been a family friend since he was born and helped Ang with a lot. They've been talking for years but never put a name on their relationship. I guess now they decided to take that step and I'm so happy for her.

As for Jaylen, he's been happier. I like to think I had a lot to do with that but it's him mostly. All his problems has decreased except for the one he chooses to ignore. His father and his relationship. I really want him to fix that but he's stubborn. I understand but he chooses to let it get to him. When we go places and he sees a teenage boy with his dad, his mood completely changes. Not in a mad way but he doesn't talk as much and his smile is gone. It's clear that it affects him but he doesn't see it. Today is the day it's going to be fixed especially because I had something to do with it.

"Jaylen !!!" I yelled from his bedroom.

"Yeah, what's up ? "He asked with chips in his hand coming from the living room.

"Phone is for you. " I said innocently. His dad was on the other line with anxiety just knowing his reaction. I told him not to worry but in actuality I really didn't know what  Jaylen's reaction was going to be.

"Hello." Jaylen said into the phone. His face fell when he heard his father's voice and threw my phone back on his bed. He walked out his room into the living room and I followed after grabbing the phone.

"You're going to talk to him. " I ordered.

"N-" He started before I interrupted.

"Shut it up ! I don't care what animosity you have towards him but you're going to get it out. You are about to be a grown man but can't have a conversation with your father. Some people can't because they shun them out too long and their father dies. Then they are stuck with the questions they've always wanted to ask but was too busy being a dick to ask. He can take it. He's a grown man too. You have the chance to call him whatever and ask whatever right now and you're going to take it. Now grab this damn phone and talk to him. And I'm not going to ask you again ! " I said as I handed him the phone and walked back to his room.

Once I settled in I didn't even have to listen to know he was talking to him. He knew what I said was true and I know he would regret not talking to him if his father died before he could.

I occupied myself for the meantime by starting the new season of Bob's Burgers. That's all I really did with my free time.

"What the absolute fuck Jaylen ?" I said slamming my laptop closed, when he came in five minutes late

"It's not what it seems. He wants to meet at Starbucks. " He explained.

"Alright let's go. " I said getting up to grab my laptop bag and placing my laptop inside. I shoved slid on my Nike slides and grabbed the rest of my belongings then we were heading out of the door.
