*3 months later*
Lately, everything's been going fine and dandy. The summer ended on a great note with our crew being as strong as it will ever be. Ever since what happened with the conviction of Jocelyn, Freddy and Emy has been recently added. Although, since we didn't go to the same school we all didn't get hang out as much, we did whenever the possibility arose.
School was in full swing with homecoming coming up in a week. The school screamed Panther pride as you walked down the hallways. I was sitting in Biology with only a few minutes left of class left and with that I decided to promote tonight's game against the Warriors.
"Everyone tonight is a big game. This will determine whether we get into the playoffs. We need to make sure our team knows we know we're going to win and we have faith in them. So everyone please come out and show that team spirit. And if you do, there might be a reward for you." I announced.
Today is Jaylen's first game starting and I know he's nervous. He has been going to a couple of their practices during the summer and he was actually good for it to be his first year really playing. The coach didn't want to play him as a starter for the beginning season because he wanted him getting used to it first. Which I think that's ass backwards because those games don't really matter too much but these games do now. And he's really feeling the pressure.
The day went by fast thankfully and I was on my way to get food to eat before I had to cheer for tonight's game. I found Jaylen, Matt, and Julie by our cars talking and I interrupted.
"Where are we eating today?" I asked. We do this every Friday and they always chose the same thing.
"Let's go to Fuddruckers ." Matt answered.
"Per usual but okay."
*3 minutes before halftime*
We were winning with two touchdowns ahead of them. We had the ball on the 40 yard line with Jaylen and Matt in position. I noticed Jaylen and another player arguing a little bit but blew it off. The quarterback hiked the ball and was searching for a person to throw the ball to. He threw it to Matt who was wide open and got to the 10 yard line before being ran out of bounds.
In the corner of my eye I seen Jaylen pushing number 21 of the other team. Both took of their helmets arguing getting in each other's faces. Fans and the teams started catching the sight and that's when shit hit the fan. Number 21 had said something and that made Jaylen punch him immediately. They started fighting when the referees came to break it up. The coach put Jaylen on the bench and the game continued to halftime.
I followed the team go in and I stopped Jaylen.
"What was that about?" I asked yanking him by his arm.
"Don't worry about Cheyenne." He said starting to walk again.
"No. You never lose your cool so what was that about Jaylen?" I pushed.
"Why does it matter to you?! What are you going to do about it?! This doesn't concern you. Word of advice, don't sweat so much though because you still have to look cute to get the other team's numbers. You should have a line by the end of the night. You're a pretty fast worker you should be done in one night. Dudes cum quick anyway. Go do your stupid little cheers and stay there like the rest of the silent groupies. I'm sure they'd rather hear your nagging because I don't." He yelled yanking his arm away.
I stood there frozen from what just happened. I watched him walk into the locker room and not send me a single glance back. My mouth hung open not believing what just happened. I slowly walked back to my team and didn't say anything. For the rest of the game, I cheered and didn't pay attention to the game. Even when we won and everyone cheered I gathered my things and went directly to my car and left without saying a word to anyone.
