Christmas break is arriving next week and right now, we are just preparing for our Christmas party. And it's not the same party we experienced when we were in middle school.

"Best friend, should we just ditch them and go to the street foods vendor?" Esme whispered while everyone is listening and suggesting the theme that they want to have for our Christmas party. The class president is standing in front of the class.

"Should we?" I asked and pouted when I felt like someone is staring at me, there I found Carlo glaring at me, as if he heard what we are talking about. I rolled my eyes. "But maybe, we should do that later, with Carlo. He can get us discounts every time we went there" para makasama yung isang nakatingin sa'kin ng masama. And I want to listen to the discussion too, baka mamaya ayaw ko nung theme nila e.

"Okay" she said and just leaned her head on my shoulder, we continue listening to the brainstorming in front of us.

I asked Carlo while we are in the cafeteria for lunch. Mamayang hapon pupunta ulit kami sa may street foods.

"Wala lang, akala ko first time mo lang rin e. Katulad nung school fair na first time mo lang na-experience" sagot ko at huminga naman siya ng malalim.

"Why? Are you planning on treating me foods again if it's my first time to experience a Christmas party? Or maybe a gift? Noong school fair, nilibre mo ako ng Starbucks dahil first time ko" seryosong sabi niya at ang haba na naman ng litianya niya.

In fairness, natututo na siyang magsalita ng madami. Improvement!

"Yup, she loves gifts. Especially during special events like Christmas, New Year, Valentines and her birthdays. She told me that when we became close para daw bigyan ko siya ng regalo palagi" she stated and showed me her foods. "Your turn, I will go to our table now"

I nodded and proceed on ordering my food.

After dismissal, we immediately went to our target. The street foods and Esme really loves kwek-kwek now.

Right after Esme left, Carlo spoke.

"Anong ginagawa niyo madalas kapag Christmas break?"

"Hmm, sometimes out of town or country.

I knew we are different in so many ways, but it must be hard for them to live life in this way.
