I Saw It Coming

    I had not been out with Sadie in ages.   She said she was up to her neck in paperwork, "Then I do all these readings on people," she told me.   I told her I understood.   She asked about my mom. 

    "She's engaged," she said. 
"Yeah?"
"It's a rock, A GORGEOUS rock!"
"I am not being rude or anything, but you know his track record with women.   Winona, Jennifer Grey, and Sherilynn?  Do you think he will follow through?"
"I would hope so."
"You are such a fucking Pollyanna.   You need to grow up.  Love just doesn't fall out of trees.  Plus, Sophie is pressuring me."
"Into what?"
"Breaking up with you?"
"Why?"
"Well, to her, you are immature, embarrassing, and not very interesting.   I mean at that event, all you talked was about that dumb fucking law office."
"It's my job."
"Also, she thinks that bragging about who your dad isn't very cool."
"What do you mean?"
"Your dad is a wifebeater, a druggie, and Sophie is a very Team Amber person."
"So, do you want to break up?"
"Well, yeah, I kinda do, but I would like to see you on a causal level.  I love the sex.   Are you okay with that?"
"Well, kind of.   There's a guy I like." 
"I see you with a guy more than a girl.   Also, I DO think your mom is going to marry Johnny.   It's going to last, too.   However, someone close to him dies.   Look, I will always be a friend, Jade.  I love our friendship, but our lives jsut aren't the same any kore."
"I guest it and I have been feeling this from you for a long time."

    I am a bit crushed.   We go back to her place and fool around but it's not the same.  I felt like I was servicing her and she, me.   I leave around three and call my mom.  

    "Hello?" She says catching her breath.  "It's Jade," she whispered.  
"If you are doing it, it's fine,". I said
"What's wrong?"
"Sadie and I broke up."
"I am sorry, babe."
"It was her friend Sophie.   She said I was bragging about my dad."
"Well, fuck her."  I heard kissing.   Johnny moaned.  "So, now you can tell Scott you love him."
"You'll be okay, babe.  Life goes on.  You're beautiful and will find someone so awesome soon,". Johnny said.

I texted Scott.   "Good.   You deserve so much more," he texted back.  I wished he would have said, "Great!   Now, let's date."  

      We met through a friend.  Simone.  At first we had a cute friendship in 2016, but in 2017, when she was moving from her small house in Springfield to the ghetto, it just happened....    I remember that day well.   I wanted to buy a dresser.  It was a cold, sunny. November Day and her house did not have heat,   I met her there and she showed me around,   Her house was very Tim Burton witty black and white checkered floors. Then by the time we got to the bedroom I saw her "plan".   I was only 23.  

      "I love this house. I wish I had money, because I would so live here.   My mom is paying off a lot of shit now that she is esthetician to the stars."   I saw how she was eyeing me
"Jade?"  She asked. 
"Yeah."
"Have you ever been with a woman before?"
"I have only dated Greg.  I never dates in high school, as I was poor white trash."
"I find you so attractive."
"Well, um..."
"Very Lily Rose Depp with curves."
"I don't see it."
"Trust me, doll.   You're hot.   I want you to turn you on to yourself."

I kissed her back.   Sadie was a big girl, she smelled of Chanel No 5 and feet.  Her breath tasted like Mickey D's.  She kissed my neck, took off my sweatshirt, and took of my bra.   "You have nice tits," she moaned.  I just looked at her.  I felt so exposed as I stood in the cold bedroom and my nipples erect because of the cold.   I took off my jeans.  "You got it,". One afternoon I grew tired of her criticisms.  I was over at Sadie's and I asked her what was wrong.    After sex one afternoon, I ask why.  

"Can I ask you something?"  I asked
"Sure.  Shoot."
"Does Sophie hate me?"  Sophie is some sort of socialite.   She had a group where she ate dinner with ladies and she handpicked who she ate with.   Poor Francie Hoffs and I got excluded each and every time.   
"Well, she does."
"Why?  I work foe a good lawyer, have a good place to live, a top notch mom, and other things."
"Well, she finds you emotionally immature and frankly, Jade, you do play the victim.   Sorry your dad is a drunk and sorry your bio dad is somebody who bailed on your mom.   If she is anything like you, he probably left with ease." 
"Do you want to break up with me?"
"No.  I am telling you this so I don't have to.  You need to grow up a lot." 
"I mean.  I'll try,". I said crying.  
"Quit being a crybaby."

So, I was always quiet around Sophie and Sadie because I didn't want one of their lectures.   Sophie had a system of three strikes and it was a full house for me.  Now Sadie broke up with me.   My mom did call be back at ten and asked how how I was to call her if I needed anything.  I am just pissed I gave into that girl.  Johnny also called me and told me, "You're going to be okay, Love."   I knew, but in October 2022, it just sucked a little more.
