It was brutally cold that December morning. The wind went right through my navy pea coat. I was hungover. I went shopping with Charisse yesterday, which was long. She did buy the gifts I needed to give my family, which saved me money. We went to Covington Point, one of the most exclusive shopping places in the city. I got Johnny some silver jewelry, mom a gorgeous sweater, Hannah a similar sweater, and my dad a nice outfit. My dad always needed new clothes. His clothes were tattered and ruined. He was always like that. He always looked like a bum. At Covington Pointe, I did run into Jeff Raypole who had choose words to say about my mother. That she was "a bitch" and "cruel" to him. I just stared at him.
"Who was that?" Charisse asked.
"Just someone my mom used to date."
"Really? She traded Johnny Depp for that?"
"I wouldn't say trade, but she thought I would never take a DNA test and pursue things."
"She was always settling for mediocracy."
"Did you try to date my mom?"
"No. Not really. She's so simple and just nothing is there. Plus, she looks like she loves the dick too much anyway. We tried. She isn't too clean sometimes and she always sort of resisted me and didn't like going down on me. I am sure it's just a pussy for Johnny. All she knows is skin. She doesn't know art or anything."
"Mom is smart. She reads. She is great with crafts."
"Simpleton."
"I really don't like where this is going. This is my mom."
"I am sorry. I just don't want to lose you. I just want you to be better than your mom, to not settle."
"What you said really hurt my feelings, Char."
"Sometimes I get a little blunt, I know and I will work on that."
We finished shopping at Covington Pointe and we went to Red Boudoir, a favorite sex shop of Charisse's and I liked it too. I got a vibrator there. "I want to make it up to you. I was cruel," she said. It was pricey, but discreet. We walked in. The navy velvet fainting couches and chandelier on a checkered floor greeted us. "I would love to eat you out on one of those things," she told me. I nodded. "We can do it here. Like in another part of the shop. I have before," she tells me. She winks. We looked at the lingerie. I really liked a sheer robe, a bustier, panties, garter and hose, all for $329. Charisse didn't bat an eye. She put it on the counter and we looked at "other" things. Novels, movies, and toys. We were alone in this room with a red fainting couch. She smiles. "I always keep my promises," she said as she began to kiss me, hands down my pants, and I was basically putty. We spent around ten to fifteen minutes there. However, after we were both wet and satisfied, a few ladies walked in. I just finished tucking my shirt in. Charisse giggled.
We stopped by a quaint little place for lunch. It was an old building, one with a checkered tile floor from 1896. It was humid due to the coffee being brewed and steamed. I looked at the huge spider plants.
"This is nice," I said.
"One of my favorite places. Kamala Rocks!"
"She does."
"So, how do you feel about your mom going away for Christmas. After all, that is the biggest holiday in the world."
"We're having Christmas tomorrow. It will be okay." She was up to something.
"If I was your mother, I would not up and leave you. She is doing that."
"No. She made a plan with Johnny and is going to Europe. It's really okay."
"You are so snowed by your mother."
She was trying to turn me against my mother. At four, I kissed her goodbye, said I would see her in the morning for church and then we would celebrate Christmas. "At your darling mother's," she said. "If you insist."
At six, mom picked me up and we baked until eleven. I had a great time, but I did tell her what Charisse said, and she told me an earful.
"So, are you ready to go Monday?" I asked.
"Yes and no. I want to be with Johnny but I will miss Hannah and you so much. I have been crying about it, but Johnny understands."
"Where is he?"
"Asleep. He decorated today and is tired."
"I knew that."
"Look, Charisse is nasty and manipulative. I didn't want to bring it up, but when you were a small baby, she wanted to date me. I wasn't into that type of relationship at the time. I hadn't gotten into my party days."
"Did you'do anything with her?"
"One time at her place and I left feeling grossed out. She told me I was sort of fat but she could fix me. I found her ungroomed bush disgusting. She stared at me feeding you," she told me. "Plus, she was always insulting me, saying I was dumb and I was 'entertainment'."
"She does that."
"Break up with her."
"I am trying but then she cries."
"You're just going to have to grow some balls." She took a bite out of a Mexican wedding ring.
She was right. I grabbed 6/1994 to 11/1994 and put it in my bag. I was going to learn about my mom's time with Charisse. She said it happened RIGHT after she had the green light to be sexually active after having me. So, after July 4th. I had read this as my mom was severely depressed after a few weeks of me being alive. After all, it was Kate and Johnny all over and mom just had his baby.
"Just got back from Dinner of The Minds. I feel so lost there with artists and poets. Well, I dabble in writing, BUT you know I just don't oooze intellect like the other women. Some of them treat me like crap, especially Charisse. She tolled her yes when I nursed Jade, bu shew as crying. The best thing I have done is have a baby and she is so, so beautiful and reminds me so much of Johnny. It's like a memory of our time together and to think this time last year we were doing it all of the time we weren't filming.' I am sure he doesn't think a thing of me as he is with Kate. I look so awful after having Jade. I feel bad because I should be so excited and happy, but I don't have a husband to love me. I will be alone for life."
Then I found IT, the night she went over to Charisse's house, which was in Maple Valley and was a typical ranch home. It wasn't Floss Mill at all.
"Well, I went over to Charisse's. She's 'out' you know. I am curious, so I am going over. I didn't get to have that girl crush in college like a few of the girls in our group. I have wondered if they are more tender, but I have been with Johnny and he is BY FAR the best lover in the world. THE BEST. Well, I drove over there, and she gets me some wine. We talk and then she kisses me. She takes off my top and said, 'Boy, breastfeeding really wrecked YOU!' I tell her that isn't important and she siad, 'The reason men don't like you is because you're fat. I do admire your curves though.' She opened my legs and went down on me. When I came, she jsut kept going until I was sobbing. After we were done, I repaid her, but she is so fucking musty. She said, 'I heard you have been with Johnny Depp. I think Jade is his kid. He wouldn't be with you now. Look at your fat tits, big belly, and thighs. He's with Kate Moss not you."
She did the same thing to me... I think she was secretly in love with Johnny and we were the next best thing. I was a bit mad.
