I read mom's diary until late in the night. Mom met Erik Buffington who was the intellectual, lawyer who could sit anyone down, shut them up, and tell them things they did not know. Mom was at a meet and greet he was at and talked about him, "I know he is married and wouldn't dare intrude, but he is so sweet, kind, and thoughtful. He even helped me with my scarf on a blustery day. That was a plus. I am keeping Jeff at buy. I need to. He's so insistent we date, we do this, and we do that." I walked into work. Judy was there and I was sure she'd lecture me on my failure of a date.

"You look like an exhausted pigeon," she said.
"UP reading my mom's diary."
"Wow! I hear your date didn't go well."
"It didn't. I am sorry."
"Well, I was just trying to help and don't be sorry. We thought you'd maybe make Travis have a personality. Don't take it too hard."
"I won't."
"I did give your card to Charisse Theroux. She's really politically active, pretty, and she likes girls. She is your mom's age, but you could paint her new home on Floss Mill Road, the big mansion. She loved the dresser you painted for us. She may be in touch."

I flew out to LA on Friday and I had a good time with Lily, too good a time. She and I had more in common than Hannah, but Hannah was sort of a goody two shoes. She was like mom.   It was a lot of wine, hanging out with her and her girlfriend and shopping. I did feel fat though. At home I was a twelve but in California I am a 5x. I tired to put on a happy face but I missed having Sadie. I felt fat, ugly, and undesirable. However, I was intent on having a good time and I did. Lily actually was really wise. She and Hannah were very wise.

"You seem sad, are you okay?"
"I will be. I just miss Sadie and feel kind of lost. Feel kind of fat and ugly."
"Awww, don't feel that way. You look so much like Dad, and me, and Dad is the most beautiful man on the planet. Has she talked to you?"
"Not really."
"You really are a great person and I knew when my dad mentioned you, he said you were a lot like me and you are."

She gave me a reassuring hug.

As I was packing on Sunday, I was going to meet my "Erik". My phone rang. It was ten our time. It was a C. Theroux.

    "Hello?"
"Hello. Is this Jade?"
"It is."
"Well, Judy called me with your number and I was wondering if you could come over this week and I can show you what I need done."
"Of course, I would love to."
"Well, about Wednesday at four."
"I can make that."
"Great, see you then."

"I have a painting deal,". I say to Lily. "That is great and you did get a good start on my dresser. We're going to Europe, but how about you come out in January and we'll finish it."
"Sure."
"I know you are hurting, but we did have a good time with you this weekend. We talked about it and you will find someone who deserves you. We think it will be a girl."
"Well, like my mom said, I can adopt embryos."
"I think you need to make one with you. You are so pretty."
"You don't think I am fat."
"Actually I envy your curves."
"Mom was worried Johnny would find her gross."
"No. He has loved her for a long time. He is old now. I think his love for her is pure. He said she was so innocent when they dated."
"Yeah. She was so depressed for years after she had to come back to Indiana."
"Same. I am glad he's happy."

I fly in, Scott picks me up, and we talk about my new job.

"Charisse Theroux is a socialite. She's a lesbian," he laughed.
"Great. I think I need to switch back. No good luck with women."
"Well, maybe you didn't find the right one."
"Maybe I can get Lauren to switch," I laughed maniacally.
"No. I don't think you could get her to switch."

I wanted to scream, "I LOVE YOU YOU DUMBFUCK!!! WHAT DO I HAVE TO DO?"
I got home, put my things away, and then I looked at social media. Charisse had a facebook so I added her. I think look at her pages. She looks like Dianne Weist in "The Lost Boys". She dresses well. She wears clothes from Dillard's, Macy's, Bloomingdale's, and her furniture. Maybe I do need to pursue her. "She was born in 1968, your mom was 1971. That may be weird." I looked at Sadie's. They went to Chicago. "I got to learn from a Tarot Expert and Sophie and I got to meet some real ascended masters." I added, "Looks like fun." I went to bed, but I did have fun with my clear best friend for a little while. I was a little puddle of pleasure.

Charisse added me and sent me a message. "Hey, look forward to meeting you on Wednesday, but if you want to have coffee, I am always available. You look like someone I know." So, I was having coffee with her Monday at seven. I had the weirdest feeling she and I were really going to hit it off and that night, I dreamt of her blue bedroom and her telling me, "You need to get turned onto yourself" and she spreads my legs and I come so hard. I had a weird feeling that for seven months, she was going to be my Erik for a while. However, below me, I heard Scott and Lauren going at it. Maybe I could get him to fertilize an egg and I have our daughter. He would do it for me. He mentioned it once. He said "I'd totally do it, but I would never take Lauren." I had a feeling about my meeting with Charisse.
