A couple of days had passed, Ryujin leaned against her car with her headphones on. She closed her eyes and allowed the music to wash over her, temporarily transporting her away from the hell she was living.

She couldn't help but ponder whether Yeji would join her on her scouting mission. She worked better alone anyway. Having another person to take care of would mean more responsibility, another thing to worry about. It was a risk to bring Yeji along, she didn't know how she would react or if their interactions would prove constructive.

As Yeji emerged from the homestead, her demeanour cold and indifferent, she walked to the passenger side door without acknowledging her presence. Ryujin rolled her eyes before quickly noticing Yeji attempting to open the car door.

Ryujin watched as Yeji struggled with the locked door, hesitant to bring her along.

"Open the door." The cat-eyed woman said sternly.

She took her headphones off and hung them around her neck, "You seriously want to come?"

"Just open the fucking door, Ryujin."

With a sense of hesitation, Ryujin finally unlocked the car door, and without a word, Yeji rushed into the vehicle.

Ryujin climbed into the car, a feeling of uncertainty still hanging in the air. She connected her iPod to the car's speakers, selecting a playlist that she listened to on her usual supply runs. The car rumbled forward as she drove onto the main road, and a tense silence settled within the vehicle. Ryujin chose to focus on the road ahead, seemingly ignoring Yeji's presence in the car.

With her eyes set on the road, her attention occasionally drifted toward Yeji's side profile. Despite the tension between them, she couldn't help but notice how stunning Yeji looked in the dim light filtering through the car windows.

Yeji's features were delicate yet captivating, and the play of shadows and light accentuated her beauty. Ryujin couldn't deny that there was an undeniable allure to Yeji's presence.

The cat-eyed woman's voice tinged with irritation and frustration, finally spoke up, her words sharp and clear. "Stop."

"Stop what?" Ryujin replied, quickly diverting her attention back to the road.

"Stop looking at me."

She chuckled dryly, "Why are you assuming I'm looking at you? Are you a narcissist or something?"

Yeji remained resolutely silent, her gaze fixed on the passing scenery outside the car window. She continued to ignore Ryujin's presence, refusing to engage in any form of conversation.

In an attempt to fill the uncomfortable silence and perhaps drown out some of the unease, Ryujin reached over and turned the music up louder, allowing the music to wash over them.

After an hour on the road, her eyes caught sight of a seemingly abandoned house nestled in the field. It stood there, isolated and weathered, like a relic of a bygone era. Intrigued and recognizing the potential for valuable supplies or shelter, Ryujin decided to veer off the road and drive toward the house.

The car bumped along the uneven terrain as it approached the structure, and Ryujin carefully scanned the area for any signs of life or the undead. As she parked the car near the abandoned house, Yeji wasted no time in attempting to get out of the vehicle.

"Wait," Ryujin said firmly, her voice laced with a sense of urgency. "We need to be careful. We don't know what might be inside."

Yeji said nothing with her gaze locked on a hand on her arm. As Ryujin became aware of her hand gripping Yeji's arm, she immediately released her hold, recognizing the unintended physical contact. She withdrew her hand, allowing a bit more distance to exist between them in the confined space of the car.
