Ryujin made her way downstairs, entering the dining area where she spotted Yeji sitting at the table, fidgeting with her fork. As she took a seat at the table, she couldn't help but be in awe of Yeji's beauty. The young musician's striking appearance drew attention, even in the post-apocalyptic world.

Her symmetrical face was adorned by delicate features, she exuded an aura of elegance and charm. Her eyes were sharp, cat-like eyes- a distinctive and enchanting aspect of her beauty, adding a unique flair to her beautiful appearance.

"Stop staring at me."

Ryujin immediately averted her gaze, "Sorry, it's a habit."

In the wake of the awkward moment, an uncomfortable silence enveloped Ryujin and Yeji. With a slight clearing of her throat, the dark-haired woman gently asked, "So, you play the violin?"

Yeji exhaled loudly before rolling her eyes, "And what made you say that?"

"Oh, I just- I, uhh... I heard you playing in your room last night." She stuttered, frantically blinking to try to stop her eyes watering from embarrassment. "Just wanted to say that you play really well–"

The feline-eyed woman narrowed her sight on Ryujin, "So you decided to invade my privacy?"

"No, of course not." Ryujin waved her hands in front of her, trying to defuse the tense situation as much as she could. "I heard it coming from your room, so I'm complimenting you."

Yeji clicked her tongue, chuckling to herself. "Okay, Ryujin Shin. Let me ask you a few questions then." She said cynically, folding her arms on the table. "Why are you alone?"

Taken back, her lips parted as she tried to come up with an answer. "I-"

"What are you doing here? I thought that you were going to leave in the morning and yet here you are." She said in one breath, overwhelming the other woman with accusations.

"I just want to hel-"

"What? You pity us? Is that why you're here?"

"Yeji, that's enough."

They both turned to see Martin walking down the stairs in his polo shirt, glaring at his daughter. "What did I say about being nice?"

"You can't seriously trust her, Dad. We don't know anything about her and you still let her stay with us?" The feline-eyes woman raised her voice, sternly pointing at the dark-haired woman who was petrified in her seat.

"We'll get to know her, Yeji," Martin said calmly as he approached the table. "And besides, what harm can she cause us? She's a kid, just like you."

Yeji chuckled dryly to herself, brushing her hair back with her fingers, "I'm not a kid anymore."

Ryujin watched as the other woman rushed past her defeated father and ran up the stairs, slamming the bedroom door behind her.

Martin's loud sigh caught her attention, "You'll get used to her, Ryujin. Just give her time."

"Well, I know it's not anytime soon."

He hummed in agreement, "She's a stubborn one."

Ellie returned from the kitchen and placed a plate of fried eggs and toast in front of Ryujin, "Where's Yeji?"

"In her lair."

"I'll bring it up to her then." She said before picking up the second plate and headed upstairs.

Ryujin picked up the fork, poked the egg yolk and watched the yellow liquid cascade onto the plate. "You guys have chickens here?"

"Couple chickens, couple cows, just enough for us to survive," Martin answered, walking over to the kitchen to make himself a cup of coffee.
