Yeonjun turned to the men behind him, raising his arms and gently motioning for them to lower their guns.
"These are the girls I told you about, the ones who helped me get my car started!" he said in a calm yet cheerful tone before turning back to the group of women.
The man beside Yeonjun holstered his gun and pulled down his mask. Ryujin was taken aback by his striking resemblance to Yeji– the sharp jawline, feline eyes, and an aura that was just as cold and intimidating.
But what surprised her even more was the man's chuckle as he shook his head, looking at her. "So, you're the one who saved this idiot from becoming zombie food?"
"Y-yeah, he needed a jumpstart for his Integra," Ryujin answered, still wary of this new group.
The man chuckled again before putting Yeonjun into a headlock. "I told you that you needed to change the battery!"
Yeonjun laughed hysterically, trying to break free from his grip. "I know, Hyunjin!"
Another man stepped up to break the two apart, gently pulling them away from each other and smoothing down Yeonjun's hair.
"It's getting dark. Why don't we invite them back to our place and talk there?" he suggested, his voice low and husky, sending shivers up Ryujin's spine.
However, when he pulled off his mask, Ryujin couldn't believe that such a deep voice belonged to someone with such a soft, gentle face. She reminded herself not to be swayed; who knew what these men were capable of?
Seulgi stepped forward, maintaining intense eye contact with the young men. "We should be on our way."
Hyunjin looked over at Seulgi with a soft smile. "We understand that you can't trust us, but your members saved one of our own from being stranded. For that, we want to thank them."
"If it makes you feel safer, you can keep your weapons on you," added the man with the deep voice, his gentle smile almost disarming.
"Where do you guys live?" Ryujin asked, tightening her grip on Yeji's hand.
"Just down the road," Yeonjun answered with a bright grin. "We have a bunch of sports cars there. You'll like them!"
Yuna tightened her grip on the handle of her gun hidden in the back of her waistband. "And how do we know you're not going to pull some shit?"
The feline-eyed man looked over at her. "We're just like you. We don't attack unless provoked. We're just trying to survive."
Chaeryeong looked to the Lieutenant. "What do you think?"
Seulgi glanced at Ryujin and Yeji. "Do you trust them?"
Yeji hesitated. She knew Yeonjun had seemed harmless at the supermarket, but she still couldn't be sure if he was truly genuine. Then again, he had diffused the situation earlier.
"I think we can give them a chance," Ryujin finally said, squeezing Yeji's hand reassuringly.
Seulgi nodded slowly. "Alright, we'll follow you. But stay in sight and no funny business."
Hyunjin nodded, smiling softly again. "Fair enough. Let's get moving before it gets too dark." He looked over at the fourth man with a subtle nod. "Beomgyu, let's go."
The still-masked man nodded and began to walk out of the garage, the other men following behind. Ryujin and Yeji followed closely, with Seulgi and Lia trailing a bit further back. Ryujin could hear muttering between Chaeryeong and Yuna, with Chaeryeong reassuring her that it wouldn't be like what happened last time.
