TW: violence and gore.

"I think you should stay with Ryujin after what happened last night."

"But what if something happens to you guys?"

"We can handle ourselves."

"Are you sure?"

"Yeah, I need to talk to Yeji."

Ryujin grumbled to herself at the thought of socializing. That was the last thing she wanted to do after last night. She wrapped herself up tightly in the blanket, pulling the covers over her head. She hated what happened. That kiss was purely out of impulse to make Yeji stop talking, though she knew that it was more than that.

She groaned upon remembering how everything went down the drain. She practically just revealed to her, to everyone, to herself, how much Yeji meant to her. The weight of it all felt suffocating, and she buried her face deeper into the pillow, trying to escape the tumultuous shit-storm swirling inside her organs.

"Stay safe, okay?"

"Always, Yuna."

"Love you."

"Ditto."

The short-haired woman could practically hear the couple kissing outside her room. The sound made her cringe, bringing her right back to that exact moment. Those soft, chapped lips... the heat from her skin... god, she loved it. It was something that just felt so... warm. So... right.

Footsteps faded into the distance, leaving behind the silence that Ryujin craved. She wasn't ready to face anyone, especially not after last night.

"Ryujin?"

The call of her name made her groan, and she clutched the blanket tighter around herself, burying her head under the covers.

"Go away!" Her voice was muffled, but the visitor didn't heed her request, entering the room despite her protest.

Ryujin could hear the sound of boots on the floor, stopping right beside her bed. However, not a single cell in her body wanted to do anything but rot in bed.

"Ryujin, let's talk," Yuna's voice was gentle as she took a seat on the chair beside the bed.

"Talk about what? Society? The economy? Sure! In the past two years, the world's economy reached its all-time low, plummeting in a rapid decline that can never be recovered," Ryujin rambled, hoping to divert the conversation away from the topic she dreaded.

"What–"

"Have you heard about that new K-pop group? Aespa, I think?" Ryujin continued to ramble, "I really like the leader. She's really pretty. Have you heard about her?"

"Can you shut up?" Yuna rolled her eyes, leaning back in the chair with one leg overlapping the other. "Let's talk about what happened last night."

Ryujin offered no response, only rolling herself away from Yuna, the blanket twisting around her body.

"Come on, let's talk," Yuna persisted, crossing her arms. "Because a lot happened last night."

Getting no response, Yuna stood up and gently pulled the blanket off Ryujin's head. Her eyes were swollen and red, bloodshot from crying all night. Her cheeks were flushed, and her lips were dried from breathing through her mouth.

"You told me to shut up," Ryujin said innocently, offering a small, fake smile in return.

The younger sighed in exasperation, her frustration evident. "You're really testing my patience, Ryujin."

Ryujin simply shrugged, avoiding Yuna's gaze as she hugged herself tighter.

"What's it going to take for you to open up to me?" Yuna asked, her tone felled with annoyance and concern.
