WEEK 121

Prompt:

On your way back from a normal day at work, you run face first into someone. As you stumble back and profusely apologize, you glance up and find the stranger is not an ordinary person and staring at you open mouthed. The problem? You've been blind since birth.

You strain your mind to comprehend what is going on, but before you think, a fog surrounds you and you fall down unconscious. In the darkness, a voice calls out your name softly, "Ace..."

The man has stinky breath, which is the only reason you knew his mouth was gaping a while ago. You wake up in a dark place, or maybe a bright place – you don't have any idea. You find yourself tied to a small, plastic chair with a blindfold on.

You wiggle your eyebrows and face muscles until the blindfold falls from your eyes and hangs limply around your neck. But you're legit blind so it didn't even matter lol. You try to get up, but you're tied to something heavy, so you cannot. Then a voice emerges from the silence.

"I'm blue dabadee."

The sound takes control of you, and the music begins. For some strange reason, the sound helps you echolocate, for you are in actuality, a half-bat. You hear many sounds around you, and soon it turns into a low chorus, as if a cult meeting was going on. The lights suddenly brighten as you hear a pack of wolves howl around you. But you didn't actually notice the lights, as you are blind.

You feel something softly rubbing your eyes, and you tell it to take its hands off.

You feel it pulling away, a gruff fur touching your legs as you hear a deep voice saying, "Sorry."

"It's alright," you say, brushing your leg, "but who are you? And where am I?"

He says, "You don't need that information right now." A pause. "But yeah, we're totally in 142 St., West Badibi," he added.

"Okay. Can you please untie me? It's getting a bit sweaty in here," you say.

He chuckles and claps his hands, causing a muted sound and a gust of air to blow in your face.

You feel frozen, the heat you once felt being turned to a chilling sensation.

"What in the world is happening?!" you exclaim.

"Nothing, I just opened the fridge."

"It's a bit fridg-id, please close it." You are shivering when you feel something lick your face. "Aw let it not be your bear again, Andrew," you said grumpily.

"Yogi! I told you to stay in the closet!" Andrew groaned.

Yogi was actually there to save Ace, so he munches on Ace's bindings and frees him. Since you are now free, you demand that Andrew lead you to the door so you could all escape!

But he said no and you suddenly wake up in a cold sweat and realize that the entire thing was a dream—including the part where you were blind.

The end (*eerie chords*).
