WEEK 40

Prompt:

"I've never been so scared in my life?"
".....It was a bubble."

****************************

"It was trying to kill me!" Patricia yelled.

"How can a bubble try to kill you?" Ursula asked, rolling her eyes.

"This is not a normal bubble"

Patricia had to explain her theory of The Bubbles Apocalypse to everyone, making them think she's crazy. Until a bubble enveloped her head and killed her.

Ursula looked at her weirdly as she zoned out and shook her.

"Hello?" she screamed.

"Thank god, it was a dream." panted Patricia.

"What was?" Ursula asked suspiciously.

"The bubble is killing me!"

"That was no dream," she replied sadly.

"We both died," Ursula continued, gravely, "The bubble army took us to BubbleRubble, their wasteland in hell."

Everything around, everywhere they looked, were things made of bubbles. They were even standing on bubbles. Why they hadn't fallen through the ground was a mystery yet to be solved.

It's rather like the cartoon logic, where you don't fall until you look down, Ursula thought. And that's when a bubble burst in front of her leg and she looked down.

It made them feel sticky and slightly ticklish, but Patricia did not find it funny. But that's only because it was actually ectoplasm from the original Ghostbusters' ghosts. The Ghostbusters' ghosts then decided to become friends with Patricia

Suddenly, someone appeared before them.

Patricia clenched her fist, as she was starting to get annoyed at all these sudden events. The stout gentleman that appeared before them raised their arms in surrender upon noticing her clenched fists.

"Whoah, woah... easy there, Miss...?" He paused, patiently waiting for Patricia to fill in the blanks.

"Miss!? How dare you be so polite!" Patricia shrieked like a banshee, making the man's eardrums burst out of his ear.

"I'm confused, do help me understand, Miss... forgive me, you still haven't given me your name."

"It's Julie," Patricia lied.

"Julie... what a lovely name for a pretty lady such as you," the gentleman smiled and offered a helping hand.

"And what is your name?"

"They call me Dominic, and apologies once again, but who might be the young lady that arrived with you?"

"That's my friend, Bonnie," lied Patricia, not looking at him.

Ursula looked at her wide eyed, before a tight-lipped smile adorned her face. "Of course"

"Lady Julie and Bonnie then- what lovely people you are! May I be your guide today?" Dominic said, making the two confused.

Without waiting for a response from the ladies, Dominic started walking in the direction of the bubble castle. Patricia and Ursula came to a conclusion and pounced on Dominic.

"Whatever do you think you're doing ladies - pouncing on me like some primitive animals!?"

Briefly, Dominic's mask slipped off his face. But someone had pulled Dominic away, the person's black cloak catching the girls' attention.

"Son, your mother and I have been looking everywhere for you, do you have any idea how worried you made us?" exclaimed the cloaked person.

"D-dad," Dominic stuttered, looking at the cloaked man

The cloaked man suddenly collapsed to the ground and died. Patricia and Ursula were still on top of Dominic as he watched his father take his dying breath.

"DAD!" He tried to reach out to his father, but it was of no use.

"This is kinda awkward," Patricia whispered to a confused Ursula.

"Why wouldn't you let me help him?" Dominic asked, tears springing to his eyes

"Dominic...." Patricia trailed off, not sure how to tell him his dad was a criminal.

"Alexander, oh don't worry dear I'll have you up in no time," a woman, presumably Dominic's mother, shrieked.

"But mom, he's dead," Dominic wailed as he stared at his father lying on the ground.

Patricia and Ursula watched them warily.

"Oh don't be silly son, one good slap to the face and he'll be up and running in no time!" his mother assured.

And just like that, the impact of the slap brought his father back on his feet. And with another slap he began singing I'm a Barbie girl and transformed into a plastic Barbie doll.

Patricia and Ursula - now having gotten off of Dominic - stood staring at the weird family, blinking comically.

"We need to get away from them.." Ursula whispered and Patricia agreed.

They both ran like hell, "Wait, is this a running style?" someone asked.

"No, it's a running competition," Patricia said.

It turns out they were in the middle of a marathon, surrounded by other runners. But all the other runners were running Naruto style.

Out of nowhere the lizard people suddenly attacked!

Patricia and Ursula, running side by side, looked at each other in complete and utter confusion.

"What's an army of half-humans half-reptiles doing here?" Ursula asked as she tilted her head, puzzled by the sudden invasion.

Surprisingly, the lizard creatures ran along the marathon with them!
