Week 145

Prompt:

I looked into the mirror and I didn't see me.

My eyes had turned blue, hair turned from black to blonde—the shifting worked! But where the hell did my tail come from?

"How otherworldly," I whispered to myself with a click of my tongue as I observed the white stripes of fur on my newly developed tail. A sudden gust of wind blew through the room. Before I could blink, my hands were covered in feathers, and the chandelier started speaking to me.

Am I in Beauty and The Beast? I thought as I watched the chandelier morph into Lumiere. I think I'm going delusional.

Things kept getting weirder as a potato flew around my room. I knew I never should've trusted Tod and his experimental drugs. Just when I thought it couldn't get weirder, my shoes started tap-dancing on their own.

"Adam!" Since when did I call Adam's name and not Aarons?

"What in the—did you take the wrong probiotics this a.m. or what?"

Kenji barged into the room and shouted, "WARNER WHAT DID YOU DO TO JULIETTE?!"

"WHO THE HELL IS WARNER?"

"Adam left the door open again and Warner came in," Kenji said and sighed, frustrated.

Adam peeked in through the door. "Who summoned me?"

Kenji rubbed his temples, exasperated. "I swear, every time Warner shows up, chaos follows."

The door hit the wall with a loud bang. "Someone called my name?"

The room fell silent as everyone turned to see Warner standing in the doorway, a mix of confusion and annoyance etched on his face. "What's going on?" he asked, scanning the group.

Chaos tried to see what was going on from behind him, but Warner was just too massive.

Aaron Warner clicked the safety off his gun and pointed it at Kenji and Adam, yelling, "KISHIMOTO WHAT IS ADAM DOING TO ELLA?"

Before anyone could respond, the bookshelf behind them toppled over, spilling books everywhere as a cat leaped out and darted across the room.

"I swear it wasn't me this time," Chaos promised sadly and started to collect the books.

Then everyone turned their heads at Adam in union. Adam, who blushed bright red and rubbed his neck. "Whoops...my bad!"

Juliette meanwhile was squatting on the table and was staring at the books, scared.

"Adam, leave now," Aaron growled, aiming his gun at him.

"Fine, just let me get my apple first," Adam replied.

"No. It's mine now," Aaron said with an evil smile.

Adam smirked as Aaron's eyes widened, realizing too late that the apple was wax.

"You sneaky sonova—" Aaron glared at Adam while spitting profusely.

Adam barely had time to dodge as Aaron, now wielding a loaf of bread like a weapon, swung with reckless fury.

Aaron yelled, reaching into the bread and pulling out a gun, "JULLIETTE, LOVE, KILL HIM FOR ME, PLEASE."

The cat pawed at Kenji's leg.

Kenji kicked the cat off of him, yelling at Aaron, "I'll take Adam out of the building; James would kill us if we killed him!"

"That's not what the code means!" Aaron spluttered, ducking under Adam's kick

Juliette jumped off the table, climbing on the armrest of the couch, completely trapped in her own world. The whole group was a mess, caused by Juliette taking the wrong pill.

And it was at this point when I remembered that the story was written in the first person.

"Juliette didn't forget," I whispered to myself, and Aaron, Kenji and Adam all whirled around—only to find me slowly losing my mind.

They tried to reach me, but before any of them could get very far, we fell into the next story.
