WEEK 73

PROMPT: "I didn't know what to do, I just knew I needed it to stop. Grave after grave after grave. I got tired of burying my friends."

~ ~ ~

I would much rather make a sand castle, but they insisted on me making "graves" and burying them in sand, and I couldn't say no.

"When's my turn, Abby?"

"After we get tired of playing dead, Rachel."

"I wanna get buried before the night ends!"

"Patience, little one, you'll have your time," Birk chirps in from under one grave.

In the distance, an abominable sand monster slowly shambled towards the children.

"Woah, look at that amazing sand monster, guys!" Sheela pointed.

"Welp, looks like we've dug our own graves by angering the sand monster."

"Maybe this way we can all get buried." Donovan adds.

"FEAR ME!" the sand monster growled.

"I can't wait to finally die," Da Xia mutters from her sand grave, looking unfazed.

"Me too!"

"Come on, how can someone be that pessimistic?!" yelled Sheela in frustration.

"Sheela, you're already dead." Da Xia shrugged.

"Death! What a ridiculous thing to deal with, let's just get this monster over with," Sheela replied, moving her jaw towards the monster.

The monster grew talons and with its fingers, and lifted Sheela into the air by her ponytail.

"How dare you touch me! You clearly don't know your place!" Sheela said, splitting the sand monster in half with her sword.

The others just watched unamused, as they were all too tired to bother and longed for their own deaths soon.

"Sooo.. who's being buried next?!" Sheela announces.

Sarah walks in.

And when she saw Sheela next to her, Sarah released her breath.

It was a huge gust of powerful wind that formed a suffocating sand storm around them all.

"Sarah, I will remember this till the moment I cease to exist!" Dai Xia yells as she runs for her life.

Suddenly, the world tilted sideways.

"OH GOSH WHAT THE HECK WHY IS THE WORLD TILTING-"

"Time for everyone in the graves to come back to life!"

"Don't tell me..." Sarah muttered while looking at Sheela with wide eyes.

When no one moved, Sarah raced to one of the graves and opened it, but when she peeked inside, there was nothing but a deep hole.

"Where.. the hell... are they."

They then reappeared through a bright light. Though, instead of coming back to life as humans, they're combined into one huge monster.

They peeked into the hole and saw that it was a tunnel. They decided to go through and explore, finding... Another hole! So they went down that hole, and found an evil giant rabbit.

"FOOD!" It screamed and stormed past the slightly confused friends. It was an illusion.

Or was it!?

The rabbit spoke in a deep, dark tone.

"I'm.. late... You're... LATE!! NOW HURRY UP and get in there and clean the kitchen, the queen is coming over."

"So, are we in Alice in Wonderland or something?"

"Yes. The Cat of Cheshire is coming!"

Suddenly, a large hole underneath them appeared, and they fell into it.

And there laid the Queen of Hearts.

Dead.

"Oh no!" They screamed. They had to find out what happened!

Devilish, the queen smirked to herself as she cracked open one eye a tiny little bit and inconspicuously watched her guests.

She wants to test them and see if they were worthy of the prize.

"My, my, my, what do we have here?" The Cheshire Cat giggled as he floated in from the hole above.

"We could have a pizza party." Sarah suggested.

Boing.

"Let's do a water park theme!"

Splash.

"Wait wait wait, go back why was there a boing for pizza if there was a splash for water park??" The Cheshire Cat questioned.

"Because if you throw pizzas anywhere, they bounce back! And they taste good."

"That... makes so much sense!"

"Right? Let's eat!"

While the others happily ate pizza, the queen still lay quietly grumbling on the floor, waiting for someone worthy to claim her prize.

Her prize which was none other than a...sandwich!

It was the best sandwich ever made.

"Hey, where did the sandwich come from and why has the script changed?"

Yet everybody ignored the person who spoke.

"Hey! I'm right here guys"

They continued feasting on their pizza.

One person walked over to the queen. "I knew you were not really hurt from the moment we walked in here."

Until they realised... the food was poisoned!

The end.
