Chapter 42: Love and Fire

The loud party music, the faint scent of sweat, and the flickering lights add to the fun of the two who are jamming together on the dance floor. They have been jumping and having the time of their lives for a while and their sweats aren't enough to stop them. At least, not yet.

"I don't know parties could be this fun!"

"I didn't know high school parties could be this fun, too! We should do this more often!" As the man screamed that back amid the music, the song ended. The people around clapped with them and shouted for more.

"Do you want to get some rest, Sarina-chan?" The man asks, while wiping the small beads of sweat on her forehead with his handkerchief. As she is ready to agree, she hears a familiar song from her favorite Western performer.

"Ran-kun, let's get some rest after 'Beautiful Monster' ends, okay?" Then, she screams with the other people and starts to jump with the beat again.

"Oh, did Ne-Yo sing this, too?" Asked the man while jumping with her. She nodded excitedly.

"Yes. Just like 'Because of you', the free concert that I did back in your mansion!" Ran laughed. It's a wonder how they understand each other despite the loud music and people.

"It's fine! You should do more free concerts from now on." What he replied made the woman smile. He then held her hand and they started dancing together. All while she is singing to the lyrics and dancing to the tempo with him until the song ended.

"I'm sorry I sound like a choking crow, Ran-kun!" Laughed the happy Sarina, which also made the man laugh.

"I don't~I don't mind~" The man replied as if to imitate a part of the lyrics of the song, making Sarina laugh louder.

It is then that the man's smile suddenly disappeared while looking at a certain direction. This made her turn around. There, she sees a familiar woman dancing with a mature male which frowned her eyebrows. But it wasn't the fact that her best friend is dancing with someone that irks her but the person she was dancing with. She was about to walk towards them to provide aid, when someone beat her to it.

"Good thing Rindou is quick on the uptake. I thought he would just leave his date alone." She didn't bat an eye to Ran beside her. She just continued watching the scene even until the older male walked away. If the eldest Haitani's gaze never left the 'couple' Rindou and Asami, Sarina's eyes followed the creep. When she noticed that he is headed towards the drinks, she turns to Ran's direction. To his surprise, the woman displayed her usual kind smile to him, which seems to place a trance on him.

"Can I leave you here for a bit, Ran-kun? Let me just go grab some drinks." Without waiting for his reply, she walked away and his purple orbs followed her.

"Fucking asshole." A certain mature male cursed lowly while preparing two drinks.

"Just you see, Asami. You will be mine tonight like before." As he said this, he glanced around him and made sure that no one was looking at him. Since everyone is minding their own businesses, nobody saw the way he put a tablet in one glass.
