Final Chapter.

Final Battle.

Who's leaving? Who's staying?

TRIGGER WARNINGS.

Everyone was silent. On edge. Sweating. Waiting. Ready to shoot anyone who walks out of the four elevators and the stairs on the first floor where the Centro guards and Agustina Dietrich are. More than thirty minutes have passed since they bombed the lower floor. Yes, they considered Guineverre, Zorn Wolfe and the three of the Elders as allies for a while, but it wasn't for a lifetime. At the end of the day, they were still part of Purgatorio—her and her family's sworn enemies, and disposable. Hence, when she got the chance to kill them all at once together with her husband and his remaining daughter, she bit the opportunity and never hesitated to.

Agustina considered the fact that anyone might still be alive below. This explains why she and her about a hundred men are presently waiting for any lucky loser who survived the skyfall to come crawling out, begging to die. They suddenly hear something moving from above them. Given that the Vault was underground, vents are everywhere.

"Look up. Rats are everywhere." She hummed with a smirk and nodded to ten of her guards. They took their stance and started shooting the small passages with their rifles.

However, it was Agustina Dietrich's miscalculation not to look into the people who survived. Or in other words, she was not as cautious and intelligent as Zorn. She didn't possess his brain nor his refined presumption skills to counter the survivors who do.

"Shit! Stay away!"

The formation of Centro's guards were shaken when fire suddenly broke from the vents that they shot. Turns out that its content was no longer only oxygen but...

"There's Methane, Miss Dietrich!" says one of her guards. They all looked at the ten guards who were affected by the explosion and fire, being roasted alive. Their comrades came to their rescue. Some grabbed fire extinguishers and some used their coats. But seven died and the remaining three are injured to even move. Since fire broke out, the sprinklers were triggered, killing the fire, and started showering the whole place.

"We can't be too drastic now, Miss." Another guard reported to Agustina.

"You think I don't know that, idiot? Whoever came up with using the ducts plan to make our plan of ambush backfire on us isn't an idiots like all of you!" Agustina hissed. "As much as I hate to admit it, I think whoever survived our assault is a fucking smartass. Let's not put down our gua—"

The woman's words are cut when one of the four elevators dinged. The guards ran to its direction to kill whoever walked out. But as they got there, it was empty. As they are about to turn back, they hear another ding from behind them. They frantically turned around but to their surprise, it was empty again. They got confused as to what was happening.

"What the fuck? Are they trying to fool around with us?" Agustina says lowly. Suddenly, the two other elevators opened and revealed blanks as well. "What is going o—"

To everybody's surprise, the lights suddenly went out.

"Hey! Everybody turn your torches on!" As ordered, the guards turned the lights on their guns but to more of their surprise, Arabs suddenly started falling down from the ceiling of the elevators and started attacking them.
