The loud sighing of a certain black-haired resounded in a certain supermarket while she is fixing the alignment of the powdered coffee on the shelves.
"Hey, cheer up."
"I don't know, Nana-chan. I am seriously so empty here." Sarina says while pointing to her pockets, and then pointed to her head.
"And here. I seriously have no idea what to do to find the means for Pops to get his surgery." She added and forcefully took her seat while thinking of a way. That's when she got a ridiculous idea.
"Should I sell one of my body organs or something?" what she asked made the brunette's eyebrows raise. Yesterday, the news about her Pops' sudden need for surgery added to her arsenal of bad luck. Which made her suggest something weird. Though posed as a joke, it didn't seem a bad idea to the broke saleslady.
"Yes, and you should totally start with your brain since it's so useless." This made the taller female make an annoyed expression.
"You really love me so much, Nana-chan."
"Totally. But kidding aside, don't get those ideas and have faith. Who knows? A good Samaritan might appear." What the brunette has on her face made Sarina frown. It is because it is unusual for Nanase to give her a playful grin.
"Like who?"
"You know, from a man named Rindou H—" Before she could finish, Sarina shook her hand in disagreement.
"There's no way. Besides, I can't bother Rin-sama over something like this. Who knows what kind of amendment he'll ask? Maybe my brain, or my heart, or my lungs in exchange of my father's." As she is elaborating, she pointed to the direction of her mentioned parts.
"Or who knows? Maybe he'll ask for my prized..." she started and looked down at the direction of her...redacted. This made Nanase laugh.
"Maybe he would if you're the last woman on Earth." Sarina gave her workmate an angry look before grabbing one pack of coffee.
"Whose side are you on, Nana-chan?" But just as she is about to throw the pack to the direction of her bully friend, a marching and serious manager was sighted by the two from the entrance, walk towards the main office.
"Isn't that Miss Miyaji? Since when was she back?" She heard Nanase whisper.
"I don't know. But for some reason, I'm getting a bad feeling about all this."
They say pay attention to your gut feeling. Because when it says something, it's usually right. And right now, how they wish that it was wrong and that everything they just heard from the wife of their manager is all just a part of a big prank. Most especially, to Sarina Samidori...who is in great need of money right now.
"I can't believe they're closing..." muttered Sarina who is looking at a white envelope containing her last salary in the supermarket that she served for almost eleven months now.
"We can't do anything about it. Since Miss Miyaji apologized nicely."
An hour earlier, Miss Miyaji Ayano, the wife of the manager and owner of the humble supermarket where the two works at, called for a brief meeting. And she shared the tragic news about the sudden closing of the store without any explanation. But she dropped hints that her husband, has fled somewhere unknown with a mistress, bringing with them every last cent of their savings. To make things worse, the store has loans left and right and the generous wife has been left to deal with it all. And so, she unhesitatingly decided to ask the employees to work somewhere else. As if it was so easy.
