TRIGGER WARNING: This chapter contains explicit language, threats against women, and spoilers from "LATCHED", another book of the author. But to those who have read it, you know what to expect. A viewer discretion is advised.
P.S. The arc in this chapter is found on Chapters 101-102 in the book above. But of course, from a different POV.
The delightful pastel colors complemented by the warm afternoon daylight and the sounds of the waves from the sea completed the beautiful, exciting, yet solemn ceremony of two star-crossed lovers who have been together for more than a decade now—Takeomi Akashi and Mitsuki Kagami.
Indeed, being a criminal doesn't excuse a man from being one with the love of his love. Anyone can dream of being eternally happy with their chosen and one and only person. And just like anyone who has the right to be happy, the Bonten members can be, too.
The golden hour, the soft music in the background, the smell of fresh flowers, the wonderful satin dresses and gentlemen in extravagant suits made the already giddy Sarina Samidori smile widely. Today is the first time that she has ever attended a wedding of anyone...as a bridesmaid. Yes, she is as shocked as everyone. She has only been informed this morning by the bride, Mitsuki, to become one of her bridesmaids. Of course, if the gorgeous woman of the hour asked her so nicely and had come offering her a gorgeous, teal-colored satin dress that hugged her usually hidden curves, anyone would say yes.
She watched the way the flowery curtain opened for her to walk the carpet. As she did, she managed to gaze at everything from the altar, to the flowers all around, to the rich guests, she managed to look at everything. Never has she thought that weddings could be this magical and dream-like. A smile was painted on her innocent as she met eyes with two purple orbs looking at her. The eldest flashed her a smile followed by a wink. While the youngest gave her a small smile. She returned both with her usual sweet smile.
The ceremony commenced until it was the chance for the bridegroom to express their vows. Sarina could only take a deep inhale with her hands clasped over her thighs as she listened while feeling her eyes get heavy and emotional. That's how solemn and touching the exchange of vows was between Takeomi and Mitsuki. And each time, she would clap her hands with glee to express how touched she felt from the depths of her stomach. She inwardly memorized the details of this part of the ceremony to include in her painting. Too bad she left in her cabin her sketch pad to do a draft. If she didn't, she would be so willing to start drawing now. That's how inspired she felt.
It was then that she noticed another couple...gazing at one another from two opposite directions. A certain brunette that she met here on the island, just a few seats in front of her and a certain intimidating pink-haired is seated a few steps ahead of her but on the other side; are intently looking at one another--- as if their eyes are enough to express how they feel. Or rather, words will never be enough to show how they love each other.
Sarina has already mentioned that she has an eye for couples who are meant to be, right? Indeed, this is the look of two people, connected by their red string of fate, finally find their soulmate.
a/n: I will no longer put the full details here of this special moment of the above-mentioned couple. Their moment has been addressed on Chapter 101: The Wedding in Paradise of "Latched" as well as the vows of the bridegroom. Please check it out if you want to relive the events there. Thanks so much <3
