"so, they're not backing down." mikey sighed, the disappointment evident in his tone.
Y/N frowned. "do we really have to do this?"
mikey nodded. "although," he began. "i want you to sit out tomorrow."
"huh? why?" she asked.
"do you not remember what happened last time?"
"you're kidding, right?"
"not in the slightest."
she groaned in annoyance. "that's not fair."
mike snorted. "not fair? the last time i let you fight, you nearly died."
she rolled her eyes. "fine, manjiro, have it your way."
mikey nodded and patted her head to reassure her. "it's for the best. i don't want to see you hurt again."
"i can still watch tomorrow, right?" she asked hopefully.
mikey nodded again. "on the sidelines."

"stay safe tomorrow. and don't die."
