i'm right where you left me

timeskip: 3 years.
me and leah ended up getting together in year 8. our school won the league every year. we won a couple of titles with arsenal. jack got scouted for spurs so he's there now. and we're all still best friends. we finished our gcses and we were all happy with our results. although jack is a bit disappointed with his science grade. we've finished school.

we're now 16 and 17 and we have huge decisions to make.

everyone came over to my house on wednesday.
we all sat on my bed and waited for someone to speak.

"arsenal want me to join the senior squad" leah said.
"oh leah that's amazing" i said excitedly.
"well done mate" jack said.

"i've uh. bayern first team want me" i said.
"are you serious" jack said in shock.
"are you going to go" leah asked.

"i don't know. it's a huge decision" i said.

"no one wants me so i'm still in the academy" jack said and we all laughed.

"rather be in an academy than not" i said. "even if it's shitty spurs"

jack left and me and leah lay down together.

"what's on your mind le" i asked.

"nothing it's silly" she said.

"tell me baby" i said.

"i guess i'm just scared that if you go to germany, things between us won't work out" she said. "i don't want you to go. i'll miss you too much"

"i'll miss you too leah. but this is about what's best for my career." i said.

"yeah but what about me" she said.

"what about me leah. if i wasn't going to bayern, you'd still be leaving me in the academy" i said getting slightly annoyed.

"yeah but i wouldn't be moving to a different country" she said.

"for gods sake leah. if it was the other way round, id be completely supportive of you" i snapped.

"i doubt it" she scoffed.

"leah why are you being like this" i sighed. we've argued before but things have never escalated very far.

"look, this isn't working" i said.

"what are you saying?" she said, tears filled her eyes.

"i'm sorry leah" i said.

"we can still be friends though, you said" i added. she didn't say anything. "i'll give you some time"

she got up and walked out. i felt numb.

"i love you le" i said, waiting for her response. it never came. she walked out and i broke down.

i didn't want this to happen but clearly she hasn't accepted my decision.

i told my mum that i wanted to accept the offer and go to germany.

weeks passed, me and my mum packed our things and booked a hotel in germany for us to stay until we can find a house. me and leah didn't speak a word to each other and jack was confused why.

the next day, we woke up and got ready for our flight. i decided to skip breakfast completely. i've been doing that quite a lot recently.

the door knocked and my mum called for me to open it from upstairs. i went and opened the door and leah was stood there.

"can i come in?" she asked. i nodded and opened the door to let her in.

"we're leaving in 10 minutes" i said hoping whatever she says will be quick.
