i'm right where you left me

today we planned to meet jack at a cafe. he's also bringing his girlfriend so we get to meet her today.

we put henry in the car and drove there.

we arrived and got out. we both held his hands and walked down the street and into the cafe.

jack was already there so we went and sat at his table.

"hiya mate" i said, hugging him and patting his back.

"hi im ella. jack's girlfriend" she said.

"hi im izzy and this is leah my fiance" i said.

"and this is henry" i said picking him up and putting him on a chair.

"hi buddy" jack said, fist bumping him.

"hi uncle jack" he said.

we ordered food and had a little catch up. we got to know ella a bit better and then the food arrived.

i cut up henry's food into little pieces and then ate my own food.

"how long have you two been together" i asked.

"just before the lockdown started" ella said. "how about you two"

"erm, we started dating in year 8. had a break up and then got back together. we got engaged just before lockdown" leah said.

"wow. that's a long time" she said. "and how old is this one now"

"he just turned 2 on the second" leah said.

"awh that's nice" ella said.

we spoke a little more.

"so when's the wedding" jack asked.

"we haven't really planned that yet so we don't know" i said.

"mummy juice please" henry asked while making grabby hands.

leah got the glass and held it for him while he sipped the drink through the straw.

after eating, we went home.

we sat in the garden and i watched as leah played football with henry.

i took a video and posted it on my instagram.

"come on henry, beat mummy" i said.

he ran with the ball and kicked it to the net.

leah dived out of the way and the ball rolled in the net.

"goallll" leah said. she picked him up on her shoulders and ran around the garden.

"mummy silly" he giggled.

"mama play" he said.

leah put him down.

"what? am i not good enough for you" she asked.

"no" he giggled.

leah chased him around the garden. she grabbed him and tickled him. he was on the ground trying to get out of leah's grasp.

"mama save me" he shouted.

i got up and picked leah up away from henry. i put her down and sat on her waist.

"henry come here quick" i said.

i started tickling her and henry came over and sat on leah's stomach and tickled her too.

"im sorry. i wont do it again" leah said through laughs. "please im sorry hen"

"do we forgive her" i asked henry.
