"Kiyo...?"

Korekiyo glanced down at Shuichi, who had tugged on his sleeve before they could walk much further down the street.

"Yes, dear?" He hummed.

Shuichi fidgeted for a moment before pointing to a building with familiar words painted on the front.

"Can... get a stuffie? M-Maybe?"

Korekiyo blinked in surprise. It was not often that Shuichi asked for things— especially when he was regressed. He was a very quiet, very easy to please little, happy to be handed anything even if it was a simple kiss to the cheek.

It was sad, Korekiyo thought, that he felt like he had to be convenient and unbothering even when he was regressed. So that was why with no hesitation, he smiled at Shuichi and held onto his hand.

"Of course we can," Korekiyo hummed.

He led Shuichi down the street, walking towards the Build-A-Bear and clicking the door open, immediately met with a colorful interior.

There was a long array of stuffed animals along the wall in organized piles. Shuichi gasped with excitement, his eyes practically shining as he was led over to it.

"Which one are you going to choose?" Korekiyo asked. He didn't get a response, and he wasn't sure if Shuichi just didn't hear him or if he was too busy running his fingers along all of the possible options.

"Soft..." Shuichi murmured, pausing as he came across a tan bunny. He picked the cloth up, frowning as it appeared to flop ever so slightly.

"She look funny," He showed her to Korekiyo.

He chuckled in response.

"You have to put some stuffing in her, love," Korekiyo told him, glancing over and seeing that the plushie's name read 'Pawlette', "Is she the one you'd like?"

Shuichi nodded.

"P-Please?" He asked softly.

"Of course we can," Korekiyo said, gently taking his hand and leading him over to the stuffing machine, "They're going to put some cotton-like stuffing inside of her so that she isn't so floppy anymore."

"Okay," Shuichi giggled, swinging the hand that was holding his caregiver's back and forth with excitement.

The two waited in line for a moment, watching everyone else's stuffed animals get created. Once it was finally their turn, Shuichi hesitantly handed the animal he wanted over to the worker.

"Hey, nice choice!" The worker smiled at them, "My daughter has this one, too. Let me put some stuffing in it."

Korekiyo held Shuichi's hand as the stuffed animal was given some stuffing, the floppy design of a stuffed animal quickly taking shape into a soft, visible bunny.

"Bunny," Shuichi pointed, his eyes shining with excitement.

"I know," Korekiyo hummed, a smile inching on the corners of his lips. He thanked the worker as they gave the now stuffed bunny back to Shuichi, leading him over to a desk that was nearby.

"Hi, you guys!" Another worker waved, picking up a red heart from her desk, and holding it out for Shuichi to take, "This is a heart for your stuffed animal. We're going to do some things to make it really special, okay?"

Her voice was soft, one you would use to speak to a kid. Perhaps she was used to dealing with young children, but Shuichi seemed to find comfort in it nonetheless.

"Shake the heart to wake it up and give it some energy," She told him, smiling when he did so, "Great! Now rub it on your head so it can stay smart and curious."

Korekiyo watched Shuichi do different things to the heart, all for separate reasons that the worker was walking him through. It made him happy to see the pure joy that Shuichi was feeling. He would buy every stuffed animal in this store, if he could!

"And finally..." The worker said, "Rub the heart on your chest, so your stuffed animal will have lots of love to give, and so you will always love each other!"

Shuichi did so, and then handed the heart over to the worker, who placed the heart inside of the stuffed animal and carefully sew her up.

"There you go!" She beamed, giving it back to Shuichi, "Thank you guys for coming. Have a wonderful day!"

"You too," Korekiyo responded, thanking her before turning back to Shuichi, "Would you like to pick out some clothes for your friend, there?"

Shuichi tilted his head, his eyes lighting up.

"Can I?" He asked.

"Of course," Korekiyo nodded, taking him over to the racks of clothing that could be purchased for your stuffed animal.

Shuichi pondered for a while, looking through the options and holding his stuffed animal up to them. Soon, though, he came to the decision of a shirt with sequined hearts, as well as a rainbow skirt.

"Kiyo," Shuichi mumbled, holding them up, "Do you think 's pretty?"

Korekiyo looked at the choice of clothing for the bunny, humming thoughtfully.

"I think they're very nice, love," Korekiyo said, "Now, are you ready to name it? There's an option for a certificate over there."

Shuichi glanced over to where Korekiyo was pointing. He walked over to the printer, getting some help from Korekiyo with filling it out.

"What are you going to name it?" Korekiyo asked.

"Umm..." Shuichi tugged at his sleeves, thinking before mumbling out a soft word, "Lilac?"

"Lilac?" Korekiyo tilted his head, "That's a wonderful name."

Shuichi typed the name out on the touchpad, and then Korekiyo printed the certificate out.

"Now she's officially yours," Korekiyo said, "She's very ador—"

He was cut off by arms wrapping around him, and he blinked in surprise, Shuichi hugging him tightly.

"'Ank you, Kiyo," He murmured, "Love you."

Korekiyo felt a wave of adoration crash over him as he wrapped his arms around Shuichi in return, chuckling.

"Anytime, dear," Korekiyo sighed, "I love you very much."

They left the building hand in hand, Shuichi's stuffed animal in his arms. Korekiyo was glad that he could do something for Shuichi, anything at all to make him happy. It wasn't often that he asked for things.

They were content together. They were safe and they were happy. For now and for a while, that was all they needed.
