Makoto sighed as he stared out the window of his room, the sunlight peeking through the clouds. It was a bitter autumn day, and yet despite the cold, the sun still found its way into the world.

He was currently taking a break from studying with Hajime. The two were sitting in his room, their books and papers pushed aside while they chatted.

"Algebra is so difficult. I swear, I've reworked problem 7 at least four times and gotten a massive fraction," Makoto complained, "Either I'm really wrong, or 47/907 is somehow the answer."

Hajime laughed.

"Yeah, I don't think I got that," He grinned, "It's alright. We'll compare answers in a bit, but we've been at it for ages. Let's take a break."

Makoto nodded, absentmindedly clicking the pen in his hand.

"You're right. I could use a break."

Honestly, Makoto could use a break in general. He'd been so busy lately. With exams coming up, it felt like he was always studying for them. It was a busy time in general for school. Every day he came home with either homework to do, a test to study for, or a project he had to complete.

He'd also been responsible for taking Komaru to after school practices recently. And because he probably couldn't say no if he tried, he accepted invitations to hang out from his friends. That was partially his fault as for why his schedule was so packed...

To tell the truth, a small, fuzzy feeling had lingered in the back of his mind ever since he woke up this morning. Honestly, that feeling had been plaguing him for the past week or two. But he was too busy to just allow himself to regress.

He supposed that he also just... saw it as a burden, something he needed to suppress. He knows it's not weird, not something he should feel so ashamed of... and yet that doesn't stop the guilt that twists in his chest at the first hints of regression.

But he was fine. He didn't need to regress. There was no way he was going to burden others— and himself— by doing so. He refused to.

The two of them stayed in a comfortable silence for a few moments longer before Hajime glanced over to Makoto's bed, humming thoughtfully.

"Hey, where's that plushie you always kept on your bed?" He tilted his head.

Makoto's cheeks flushed when Hajime noticed.

"Oh, uh... I put her up," He mumbled, fidgeting with his fingers, "Guess I got tired of sleeping with it."

Hajime furrowed his eyebrows, a look of surprise forming onto his face.

"What? But you loved it!" He argued playfully, the small grin on his face dropping ever so slightly, "Come to think of it, you haven't regressed in a while..."

Makoto chewed on his lower lip. Hajime was the one who looked after him when he was small. Really, he should have expected he would notice something was up eventually.

"Yeah, I guess I don't have much time to..." He said, "It's probably better I don't, anyways."

Hajime blinked, his gaze softening.
