" My dearest I shall be late", began Harry Thompson.
" Why what happened?" asked Annette.
" It's your friend Anastasia,who met with an accident this morning."
" How did you get to know about it?"
asked Annette anxiously.
" It happened as I was driving towards
my office this morning." said Harry.
" This is bad news," exclaimed Annette.
" Don't worry my dear I'll see to it,"
replied Harry.
Annette felt helpless.Anastasia was in a crucial state and she couldn't do anything from her end.She couldn't help recalling those days when Anastasia had nursed Harry back to health.Her throat was dry and she sought to savour a glass of water.Just then the baby cried out and she got busy tending to his needs.
Her thoughts strayed towards that woman in the cafeteria.Now she wouldn't be able to find out who she was.
Harry arrived late that night and took a shower .Annette anxiously
laid his night clothes on the bed.She was waiting eagerly to find out what had happened.
Boreska laid the table and retired for the day.Annette waited for Harry to
come and sit down at the table.She was patient and understood her husband well.She filled the glasses with water.
Harry looked at Annette and then joining his hands at the table said.
" Anastasia Veronski is no more."
Annette started to tremble and suddenly her tears began to roll down.She was sobbing uncontrollably.Harry gathered her into his arms and rocked her gently.
" Tomorrow is the burial ."
They sat huddled together a doubt of uncertainty and guilt in their midst.

"I've always felt that she was in some trouble.'said Annette.
" I saw her running," he said.
"Why didn't she confide in me?" She sniffed.
" It was personal," he patted her affectionately.
" I can't believe she's gone," said Annette.
" Neither can I ,let's get some sleep," he said.
